Viper 5901 remote start/alarm on my '09 G37x AWD

Hi everyone. I just wanted to ask if it is a good idea to install remote start and alarm on the G37. I asked the dealer where I bought the car, they say installing aftermarket alarm and remote start would void the warranty? Is this true? can anybody confirm this? I wanted to install the new Viper 5901 with tilt and proximity sensor. I got a deal on this for $700 parts + labor. Is it safe to have remote start on a push to start car? Can someone just break into the car while its running and just drive it off? Thanks in advance

i didn't know alarms would void warrenty that sounds a little odd.

I do know that some people have gone to the dealer and they have custom installed remote starts for them within the stock key.

I have the viper system,

I dont think it voids the complete warranty, maybe the electronics part because of the bypass mod that has to be done in order to install any alarm system

But my car is 7 speed AT.

I heard that the Viper 5901 is discontinued due to some manufacturing defect? did anybody hear about this? I heard it from a friend and tried to search online but couldn't find the information. They releasing the new 7901 next month so I think I will wait for that one I guess. Btw, how much does a tilt sensor and proximity sensor go for? Some place is charging me $125 for proximity and another $120 for the tilt sensor. Are these prices jacked up?

i had that same exact alarm for my 97 240sx...it was a great alarm! thinkin of gettin a similar one, but i too dont wanna hold 2 remotes.

as for someone stealing your car with an autostart...the key must be inside the car, if not then the car will shut off when you press the brakes or if go over 3k rpms....thats how the viper 791xv was.

ya the car shuts off when you hit the brake to put it in gear unless the key was in.

states law a consumer can install a aftermarket alarm with or without remote starter into there car or truck and it will not let me say it again will not voice your warentee at all. if they said it will speak with a manager and ask again. if he says it voids warenty tell to get ready to go to court

You could easily install a remote start from DEI to work with your factory fob when you press the LOCK button 2x. You could connect the double-pulse lock wire to the trigger wire on the remote start...

I've seen this, I've done this...you don't want this (Zohan) haha. I had my 2000 Nissan Maxima working this way and it was pretty cool...didn't need 2 remotes.

but to remote start the car, you need a key fob installed in the car as well correct? and wont this just allow anyone to open/start your car?
