I put mine on the passenger side under the plastic cover. I had to relocate some of the electronics... I detailed that here:

https://www.myg37.com/forums/audio-video-and-electronics/185955-diy-fiberglass-subwoofer-enclosure-and-amplifier-install.html

What I did not include in the thread is that I sat the amp ontop of some extra carpet to let it sit well and strapped it in with zip ties so that I wouldn't have to drill into the body. It isn't going anywhere.

The amp I used is about 9" * 11" * 2.5". I am not sure of the exact specs but you can find those on the JL website (it's the e1400d). It seems like another inch or two of length *might* have been possible though.

So far I haven't had any problems but it has only been down there for a week or so.

Also, the jack doesn't need to be relocated. It is fine where it's at.

Wow, great work! So does the trunk floor lie flat with the amp under there? Can you still put the 4080 enclosure on top of it?? Thanks!!

Yes, the trunk floor lies flat. You really have to work to get the plastic piece in there right though. You will not see a difference once the plastic shroud is back in place.

Also, that's not a 4080 enclosure. That's one I made. The 4080 is only on the driver's side. You could put the 4080 on the driver's side and the amp under the passenger side plastic cover though.

Not yet, but like I said, it's only been down there about 10 days and I really haven't been on any long drives. I am assuming that it will be OK. If it starts to shut down then I could always install a small 12V fan. They are easy to find at a computer store and are very cheap

Two Jl Slash v2 amps will also fit as a replacement for the stock Bose amps on the driver's side.
