Can I play DVD's without NAV Package

Sorry if this is a repost but I did a search and couldnt find it.
I just picked up an 08 G37S 6mt. I have the premium package but no NAV. In the center console I noticed RCA jacks. I was told by the salesperson that I could play DVD's if I connected a portable dvd player to the RCA jacks. Is this true? If so, will it work while the car is moving?
Thanks!

You can play it through your iPod as well I do believe. I have the Navi and can play through the iPod and those RCA jacks.

If I shouldn't ask how to do it here where do I find out?
I don't intend on watching movies myself..ll just figured it would be nice to have for my passengers on road trips.

no, video is from A/v jacks only not the integrated i-pod cable. so if you get the proper cable you can watch video via the i pod while parked. as for while driving do not ask that question on this forum. PM's now that is a private matter.

I lost the link to diesel doug's tutorial can someone PM it to me. Please refrain from talking about it in any detail that even reveals what we are talking about here on the forum as I dont want to break any rules. I may do "that which we dont speak of" this winter. I wonder how difficult it is on a scale of 1 to 10....

Search NAV bypass, i don't think that's outlawed yet to say. But yeah, unless your parked the car will not allow video's to be displayed. I believe you will hear the sound, but see no picture, unless you bypass.
