Bose Audio Studio On Wheels recommended Audio settings
I want to see if anyone has any recommendations on what to keep their audio settings tuned for the Bose Studio on Wheels for Base and Treble etc.. and what people think sounds the best and will not damage blow any speakers. For example I keep mine tuned on "Driver Audio Stage" with the Bass +2 and Treble +4 Fader and Balance left alone usaully volume 50%-80% up. Sounds alright nothing great but lately Ive been listening to the new li'l Wayne Carter III I ripped to my Music Box and I swear the beats were so loud it must have done something to my speakers cause I don't think it sounds as loud or clear as it did before ?
Any recommendations or advice I dont know if tunning Base or Treble up has any effect on the quality of sound or could damage speakers especially with the Drviver Audio Stage preset enabled

nope, you not going to damage your speakers. the bose system is crossed over fairly well, and set inorder to prevent that from happening.
As you increase volume the bose also automatically reduces low end output into to keep distortion down.
Before i add a sub to my car, i ran it with driver stage on, and bass at Max and treble at +2. fader/balance were in the center.

first off, we do have subs in the car. 2nd, you cannot blow these stock speakers. I have a JL 10w6v2 in the trunk getting 500 RMS with all stock internal speakers. The drivers audio stage is actually a lot crappier sounding then just normal setting. I keep the trebble 1 down from all the way up and the bass 3 down from all the way up and can turn the volume 99% and everything is fine. a milli hits so damn hard outta the stock system and the 10 i added its crazy! Young Jeezy's i put on, is a crazy slapper too!

I have yet to hear a lick of distortion in mine... I could heard a lil in my old 35 but its zero in the 37 even with everything maxed out.
I love how "Put on" shakes the doors with that 17Hz note you can't even hear. If my window is halfway down it looks like its going to break from so much movement

I checked my bass and treble settings the other day I noticed someone changed them down on me I set them back bass +2 treble +4 and it sounds much better than it did lol. Good to hear that no matter what settings you have on the bose studio on wheels set it wont blow anyting up even when bass and treble are maxxd out

Ugh! The ultimate setting for the premium setup is out of the car! Would never have wasted my money if it didn't have to come bundled with the Nav system. Any decent after market setup will blow it away. And for the person who said we have subs in our car, send some of that shat you are smoking to me. We have speakers that will play into the sub frequencies, but we surely do not have sub woofers in our cars!

One thing I noticed is that the source can impact the sound quite a bit, for some reason playing songs from the IPOD interface seems to have less volume output then from Music box. I found a solution using MP3Gain a freeware program that allows you to up the volume on MP3's without distortion. Most new recordings have a good gain setting but for the old farts like myself that listen to 80's Rock, this little program can restore the kick. A 5 db gain makes a world of difference.

Yeah I use a similar program called Audacity to amplify my MP3's before I load them into my phone for ringtones. Haha, too much trouble to do this to all my MP3's though just to get a bit more volume out of my iPod.

MP3gain has two modes, one via track the other via album. by track just kicks up a track to whatever db you set, by album takes the volume levels across all the songs on an alblum and sets them at the average. Using alblum gives you a common volume across the alblum and also makes it quick and easy to do a whole album at a time.. the gains, pardon the pun, are worth the time. You could do multiple alblums as well, best results I find are one album at a time.
