LCD Resolution and IPOD videos

I have some IPOD videos playing (and they're formatted for TV resolution) on the G, but the quality looks like crap.. its very pixelated.

Does anyone know what the resolution of the LCD screen is? Im assuming its something rather low.. and im guessing theres really not much I can do to improve the video quality?

Which iPod do you have? I found out the iPod Touch and iPhone output video at a lower resolution than the curent iPod Classics and Nanos, which is strange, since the Touch and iPhone are considered more advanced and high-end products.

Since it is using standard composite cables (yellow video cable) the resolution will be 480i at the most. It doesn't matter if the screen is 1080i or 1080p because of the connection you are using to hook up the video. And the system in the car is not meant to increase the resolution of the video coming in. My screen looks to be giving video at a resolution of 480i at best. If there was a component or S-Video connection then the video would look better but that is not the case.
