Fibreglass tub how-to thread *pics*

As discussed in my G37 build thread I scrounged up some pics from my Lexus build. This build can be applied to just about any car with a spare tire well. The G37 had a simpler MDF bottom section because there are no complex curves or corners once you remove all that plastic trunk panel stuff.

I have about 7-8 layers of glass on top and bottom. The top is completely removeable so I can do a custom top piece for whatever I want to put in there. I don't have any pics of the tub build itself but is the easy part.

7-8 layers for the spare tire 'tub'

Frame with two rings all nailed or screwed into place

Mmmm...fleece! Stretched a fleece blanket nice and tight over the frame area
I stapled the low points and all around the rings so the fleece wouldn't release.

Resin coat to stiffen it all up

Test fit with the top panel (yes, thats my stock gas tank!)

Top panel removed and after 8 coats of fibreglass it weighs a ton!

Custom paint done by my local bodyshop. Factoray paint matched and clear coated of course

I don't have any pics of the amp rack build...I just wanted to finish it! Here it is all finished with Red LED's, vinyl covered backboard and top panel. Frame (trunk floor) was done in black synthetic suede.
