There is no limit as to the size of the CF card you can use, however it will only read the first 512 files on the CF card. I have a couple of 2GB CF cards and I find that works best. I actually really enjoy having the CF slot and use it the most over other the options.

How can you prefer CF over iPod? I mean, I don't mean to sound rude, I would like to use my CF over my iPhone as an mp3 player, but the iPod features are so perfect - Artist, Song Title, Playlists, etc.

If the music box would let you copy MP3s from the CF and CDs then there would be no need for an IPOD for me personally. However, I am going to pick one up tonight as it gives me the functionality that the music play SHOULD have with it.

Its weird how the music box will only rip songs at 108 or 132kbps bitrate, so you might as well just go for an ipod, i assume sound quality will also be better?

I am using a 8gb nano, but the previous gen one. it works like a charm. I would reccomend getting a black 8gb nano now, the squarish ones, i think it'll match the car. goodluck

Be glad that you're going with the IPOD solution. I don't have nav so no music box in my car but I don't miss it at all with the IPOD.

Frankly, I am waiting to hear from all the music box users after they worked so hard to load all their music and then the hard drive craps out, or some other glitch happens and they lose all their loaded music! You KNOW it's gonna happen someday....

If the hard drive craps out that will be the least of their worries. All the nav stuff would be gone as well as all the car settings and who knows what else.

I just bought an 80GB Ipod. The pricing was 149 for 4GB, 199 for 8gb and 80gb for 249. Obviously the 80 was the way to go.

Hopefully it will play my MP3s. I hate Itunes

I did a sync of 2500 + songs and it works ok BUT i HATE ITUNES. Does anyone know of any good 3rd party software outside of itunes that lets you directly access the device without using Itunes?

Thanks,
Dean

Why not just get a CF card, dump your MP3's on it using your computer and then insert it into the CF slot in your G? You can even folder the MP3's by category if you so desire. This does not require iTunes, just a basic knowledge of copying/pasting.

Because the Ipod Holds 80GB as compared to 2GB CF cards and IPOD has a ton of other options. Honestly, the IPOD is what the music box should be.

I am still not thrilled with Itunes but I have it working pretty good. I currentl have over 3,000 songs and threw in 4000 plus picturs just for laughs and the IPOD 80GB is only about 13% full.

There honestly is no need for the Music Box as the IPOD functionality is the best.

I do not know how other people are managing large amounts of music but creating playlists with different cateogories is getting the job done for me. I create groups like Rock Favorites, POP Favorites, Light Listening, Jazz, etc. and put together play lists that make sense and then have the Infiniti IPOD player randomize the tracks on the playlist.

The Music Box is just not useful if you have an Ipod expecially witth large storage capacitieis.

I considerd going with several CF cards but the G37 has limits on how many files it can read off of those. The IPOD really is a seemless solution becasue you just leave it in your car unless you are going to copy new music to it.

I already have XM so XM and the IPOD is the only solution needed for the car IMO. I do have some songs copied to my music box but they are also on the IPOD now.

MY advice to anyone who likes music is to skip all other options and just buy an 80GB or better IPOD and you will be happy.
