Key Fob Pickle....
So last night a friend and I made a trip to a store to grab a few items. He saw my fob and was checking it out as we were in the store......we make our purchase, put the items in the trunk, get back in the car. He puts the keys in the cupholder and we head home.
We get home, I grab keys from the cupholder, get out of car, go to lock car.....the fob is gone....just the key that goes inside the fob is there.
Well crap....I take a look around....its no where.
So I start doing some process of elimination. I hope I have this right (why I am posting this).
1. The fob HAS to be in the car since the car started and I was allowed to drive home. It would say NO KEY otherwise, I hope...
2. The fob is NOT in the trunk cause the trunk would not close.
3. I had a different buddy get in the car, while I and the guy that was playing with the keys stood outside and away from the car. That guy started the car....again, the fob HAS to be in the car.
PROBLEM: I have violated my car in every way possible and looked for the fob over and over. Spent and hour last night doing it with a flash light and over an hour today in day light. The fob is no where in easy reach. My only conclusion is that its under one of the seats in a damn good spot.
CURRENT STATUS: I can not lock my car the way it is now. I even tried locking the doors manually and closing them. The car beeps and doors remain unlocked.
QUESTION: Even if I were to use the spare key fob....would the car lock? Or would it still recognize that there is a fob in the car and just beep and remain unlocked.
The only thing I can think to do is to remove the seats and go from there.
I have no Infiniti dealer close as I am in Lubbock TX and the closest is in DFW.
I am pretty much asking for suggestions of what to do next. I am stumped!
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!

this makes no sense...if the fob is not in the trunk then ur trunk would close.
anyway, ur fob must be in the car somewheres for u to not be able to lock the doors...like stated earlier, see if u can start ur car...keep searching...and even tho u have a spare fob, u still wouldn't be able to lock the doors

In my post under #3, I was able to start the car. I can drive the car just fine - just can not lock it.
Checked everywhere. Even above the sun roof cover.....
It does make sense, you just stated it the other way....both being true. I probably could have worded it better though.
Thats what I was thinking.....great! LOL!
I have torn my car apart as well as many other people for a different set of eyes. We are all stumped as to where it is. Thats why I think its under the seats since its so tight around them. Removing them seems to be my best bet.
Are the seats easy to remove???

hopefully u'll find it. like the saying goes, "It is always in the last place you look"
i know its a dumb quote because everything is in the last place we look because we don't continue to search after it has been found.

I dropped my cell phone one day and it went between the seat and console. Thought I wasn't going to get it out for a few seconds. If its not a joke, take the seat out. Otherwise did you look in the overhead consol? Let us know where you find it.
