XM Free Trail.. only a few channels?

So i picked my G37 up today and the dealer activated the Free 3 month XM trial they said.

Well when i got home and started messing with the unit, it appears that i can only tune into a couple of channels (maybe 5 or 7).

Am i missing a setting somewhere or something? Also is the free trial supposed to include Navtraffic as well or no?

You should have full XM reception on all channels for a free 3 month trial. Ask your dealership to look into this for you. Welcome to the forum!

And yes, I had Nav Traffic during the trial period as well. It depends on whether or not your city is covered. Check XM's website to see.

Verify with XM your receiver is activated then tune it to channel 1 for about 15-20 minutes. You should receive every channel XM has to offer during trial period.

use the tuning **** to tune in other stations, not the "tune up", "tune down" buttons. Those just jump to the music type.

I got caught by that.

I had the same problem when I let the trial expire and purchased a new plan. First, go to channel 1 on XM to get your radio ID #. Then, go to XM radio on the web and find the "Refresh My Radio" tab. It will bring you to another webpage where you will enter your radio ID #. Then go to your car and tune to channel 1 for about 15-20 minutes so it can capture all the stations (You need to tune to channel 1 within 2.5hrs after refresh or you will have to go to the web and refresh again). Also, make sure your car is outside with clear sight to satellites. Hope this helps

Alright guys, i got it working.... Yea i was tuning correctly. It wasnt set up right with XM. Called XM up and they said put it on channel 1 for 15 min. It actually took about 20min but then it started working, and now i have all the channels plus navtraffic.

Thanks,
