Disable key fob buttons?

Is there a way to disable some or all of the buttons on the key fob? Maybe a way to lock the I-key like you can lock a cell phone?

I've had a few instances where the alarm has gone off or the trunk has popped because the key was in my pocket and one of the buttons was inadvertently pressed.

I never use the I-key buttons anyway. I lock the doors using the driver door switch, unlock them using the button on the door handle, pop the trunk with the button on the car. They're pretty useless for me.

I've never heard of anyone doing that with the key fob.

That sux! I once inadvertently rolled down the windows halfway because of the stupid key fob. They were half open for 3 hrs at my work's parking lot. Even if you have the window function lock on in the door, the key fob can still roll it down.

A member here, terrycs, sells a fob cover, neoprene for the back and clear plastic for the front. Since I began using his cover I have never accidently pushed any of the fob buttons. The clear plastic cover might give you that little of protection you are looking for. Worth a try.

Many things are configurable using CONSULT III. Take it to the dealer and they can shut it off...

PANIC ALARM SET
Panic alarm button pressing time on Intelligent Key remote control button can be selected from the
following with this mode.
• 0.5 sec.
• 1.5 sec.
• OFF: Non-operation

how do you roll the windows down with the key fob?!

edit - I figured out how to roll the windows down with the fob, now my question is ... can you roll them up with it?
