Ipod Interface Integration

I just had a question about the ipod interface. If my G37 does not have an ipod interface. Can I have the dealer install one?

no i was looking for any kind of ipod integration that would allow me to use the car's mini screen. i called a couple of dealerships today to see if it was possible but they all said no. there's nothing for the g37 as of now but maybe down the road since they have some kind of integration for the g35.

i would do some research on my own if i were you. this is the same thing the dealerships said about sirius radio in the g37...turns out that it is plug and play. i would venture to say that the factory nissan g35 jdm ipod integration works for the g37 also.

You can reuse the sharkfin antenna. You have to solder on the correct connector, but after that it's plug and play. If you do use that antenna, then keeping XM nav traffic is no longer an option.

I think the factory iPod integration for the G37 is part of the musicbox computer. I'm guessing it would be too expensive to get that same functionality until a third party does something for it.

I thought the ipod interface was part of the premium package, not the nav package (which includes the music box HD)?

You can buy an ipod integration kit which gives you some control via the factory radio (though limited compared to the factory integration). See below.

^bfranks found that the sirius was compatible with the second gen g's. very knowledgeable.

as for the sirius, its easiest to use the low profile antenna and stick it on the corner of the speaker deck. i've never signed up for xm traffic and i still have it after 6 months of ownership.
