I wasn't but I would suggest a larger wire gauge. Here is a link you may find useful: http://www.the12volt.com/info/recwirsz.asp

upgrade the grounds the big three and you'll most likely be a-ok
The ground wire is even more important than the powerwire

Larger gauge wire will help. If I were putting a system like that in I would also use a capacitor (roughly 1Farad for every 1000 Watts of system power rating). I have used them before placed as close as possible to the amp and they do work. The capacitor provides large amounts of instantaneous power and recharges itself when not in demand so it is not continously using current as said in an earlier post.
btw....never cross terminals with screw driver by accident....very painful!!

you dont need a capacitor, dont waist your money on a capacitor.
get a yellow top optima and do the "Big three"
that will fix your problem.
here you go:

it show you, and explains how to do a Big three
thats what you need. not a capacitor.

well i did read the forum but i dont want to be the first one to do it to our car i would rather wait for someone who did it already and pst up some pic as to where they put there ground and so on..kinda scared to do it if im the first one dont want to mess anything up haha because im not no pro at car audio

Correct
Capacitors maintain charges for nanosecond and need to be replenished after large transients. Upgraded alternator is the way to go.

I too am a believer that a capacitor is a waste of money, but plenty of professionals believe in them. I don't. I personally think better grounding, a beefier alternator, and second battery are MUCH better solutions. I don't want to run a second battery and our alternators produce sufficient output IMO, so grounding kit it the way to go for me.

Betty's Garage grounding kits upgrade two of the "Big 3" (battery negative to chassis and chassis to engine block on each side) in either 8 AWG or 4 AWG. It doesn't have a connection from the alternator positive to battery positive. It would be a difficult install on this car that most would not want to do as DIY. If anyone wants the alternator + to battery + cable to complete the "Big 3", I'll be glad to fabricate one for you if you get an accurate length measurement.
