Navigation Update May 2008

For those with the Nav system, it seems there will be an update available in May. Here is a link to the information on it..

Thanks. I'm looking forward to this. There are a few new roads in my area that are not on my mapping software.

Hopefully that will be the way to get Infiniti to update our vehicles at no charge by saying many local roads are not available on the current HD system.

My salesperson said that they will do it for free... We shall see...

I hope they update the POI because I think that it hasn't been updated in a very long time. I live the DC metro area and I found the POI to be just about useless!!! BTW I have the 07-08 version which is the latest...

I was wondering the same thing. I was thinking through CD/DVD or we'd have to visit our Infiniti dealers..??

edit: unless someone beats me to it, I'll contact Zenrin tomorrow and ask what the process will be for updating our Nav.

I was thinking that the compact flash reader would do it. I hope this is something that we can do on our own as I would hate to run the car into the dealer for them to update it periodically.

I'm sure you would be able to obtain the data from them but there's going to be a significant fee for that software.

I was told the cost would be $190.00. I am going to protest directly to Infiniti as my car has the 06-07 nav data while others got the 07-08 versions.

$190 is outrageous - handheld portable GPS's are going for that much let alone update software. I would hope an update would be free because we have already indirectly invested and paid Zenrin by gettin G37 equipped with em so we are customers to them in a way. updates should be free!

If it's going to cost that then I'm throwing it on a torrent site. Thats just ridiculous for a map update. Windows updates are free, Mac updates are free, Anti-virus updates are free. Why should this software not be a free update. It's not like an upgrade where you get additional functionality!!!! BASTARDS!!!
