ipod question

Just got my g37, and I love the ipod feature. When I'm listening to the ipod touch and turn off the car, when I restart the car, it says that the ipod is disconnected, and the only way to get it to work is to disconnect and reconnect the ipod. It then picks up right where it left off. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there any way around it?

I have the same problem times. The Ipod interface seems to be finnicky, but if you just unplug and replug it always works.

I've only used mine a few times but it would automatically reconnect when I start the car from whichever song its was on (Shuffle). I too have an iPod classic, haven't used it on my iPhone yet.

mind does the sme from time to time. But i hate that it will not resume from the last song. I like to leave it in shuffel but the car always makes it go back to the start.

That rarely happens. Although, it has happened in the past. Maybe your cable connection is loose.

Use an I-Pod Touch and i have never had this problem. I did have one problem with the battery not charging but it was due to the fact that i had turned off the auto-feature so even though i turned the car off the i-pod would never turn off.

Just hit disk/aux once and it will come back alive. I have to do this sometimes after a bluetooth call too.

are you using the black cord the dealer gives you? i've heard of people having problems with it and just getting their own connection or having it replaced by infiniti.

Another Question - I have learned that Apple disabled Video Out on iPod classics. and also i have gotten word that the cable accessory that enables video out has "limited use" does anyone know that truth behind that as to how it "limits" the functionality?

Does the final gen iPod Classic have enough tweaks and benefits over the previous generations for me to get it or should I get an older one for purposes of using in the G37? I want the iPod normal over the touch for the extra space and I dont care to use the touch screen really....

Please answer me someone

The major difference between the 5th Generation Ipod and the Classis, that i know of, is the program it runs on, and the storage capability. The 5th Gen only goes up to 80gb, I believe, and the classic has up to 160gb. Also, the classic has the different view called Cover FLow, but if your using it in the G, it won't benefit you any.

Go with the 5th Gen, to get a better deal. If you go with a refurbished model from Apple.com, you will get a great discount, and still get original warranty, plus purchase additional. (win win situation there)

I would go with the 5th Gen....

I like your signature. I went with a refurb 5th gen. Question. Does yours want to stay on sometime. Mine does not always turn off . I come back to the car and it is still on. Backlight goes off but the ipod is on. But sometimes it's off? Is there a setting?

I don't know if there is a setting. My ipod also stays on, but i don't see it to be a problem, being that the G also charges it.

I wouldn't worry.

If you want to read into it, maybe some blog out there, or here, discusses that.

Cool, I'll just Let It Go. Like I don't have enough to worry about.
