Question audio through ipod AV Composite Cable?

I read on a review somewhere that normal music doesn't play out of the ipod AV Composite cable, that only video audio will play. Is this true? The reason i ask is because I don't like the G37 ipod interface (too slow for big libraries) and would rather use my ipod touch's interface and play the audio through the aux input. Can i use the video cable to get this done as well as have the added luxury of watching video when parked if I wanted?

It won't show any controls on the nav screen unless you use the Infiniti iPod cable. You still have to use the iPod to choose songs if you go the A/V route. Think of it as if the car were your headphones if you were using your iPod normally.

This is how I do it. Works fine.

perfect! now i can get to "smashing pumpkins" in my artist list without scrolling for 5 minutes through 300 other artist names on the G's interface. I can't believe they (whomever they are) made such a poor design choice and didn't offer something like "speed scrolling" when holding down the up/down button for more than 5 seconds or something, even my oven starts to speed up when you are setting the timer and you hold down the button for a few seconds!

album art is also sorely lacking, i find that one of the most enjoyable ways to pick out an album to listen too. the picture communicates so much more about an album you know than a title.
