I installed this cord in my G37 and everything is great except the fact that my radar stays on when the ignition is off, Did I do something wrong ?

Thanks Hobbs, but I cant seem to get the cables to fit. Im not sure what hes doing since his hand blocks the way. Is he pushing the black into the ground, and red into the red? Right underneath the original cables??

Getting the pins in is a b--ch! I used needle nose pliers to hold them while shoving them in.

Alright, but all I do is shove the black one with the ground, and red with the power? In the same slot correct?

I just bought a hard wire hit, soldered needles to the ends of the wires, then stuck the needles in the wiring harness of the rear view mirror. They work perfectly.

I just used blendmount to mount my 9500xi on my m37 and used a phone cord with male serial cable connector from radio shack. If you are having problems getting the wire to slide into the rear of the rear view mirror get a hammer and lightly flatten the connector a little more.

That's one pricey mount... $80 for the hanger piece. I have an arkon weighted (U shape) mount with a rectangular platform I've been using. It works well, but is easily visible from the outside.

Hey guys... I had my 9500ix installed recently with the smart cord which connects through the car into the back of the car lighter adapter. It is mounted above the right side of my rearview mirror just underneath the anti glare tint that comes on most cars.

Ever since it was installed it has worked fine. However I have no GPS signal and am unable to manually store locations as false alarms as well as recent locations that have been stored. When I try to hit the mute button 3 times it says "GPS N/A". I am worried this has something to do with the connection or maybe the location of the unit (which i hope because i paid $75 to have this installed). If anyone has any info on this please let me know.

You could try moving it further down. The gps antenna is towards the front end on top and it need to be clear upwards. It could be that you mounted it to high up so the car ceiling is blocking the signal.

I didn't. It's just up and to the right of the mirror, attached to the windshield. You can't even tell it's there from the outside of the car.

Glad I found this old thread. I ordered the 8 inch version last week and it just arrived today.

Took me less than 5 minutes to install. The pins were a tight fit, so I did flatten them slightly with a hammer, then they slid right in. If you have good lighting, you can look in the harness and find the best point of entry.

I might order a 12" or make my own. My Passport 9500ix has the jack on the left side, so I'm limited to mounting right under the rearview mirror.
