So I was talking to a co worker at my job who also works at a apple store up North as an "Apple Genius" when she's over there and told me that she has had many people come in after unlocking/ jail breaking there phones with them being locked out. She said this is not on a frequent basis but has had quite a few people.
Once this happens due to jail breaking there not allowed to attempt to fix it although they have the soft ware to repair them. They tell people they'll have to buy a new one.
She also said that you should down grade to apples 1.1.3 or less in order to jailbreak safely. She said the 1.1.4 was merely a security upgrade to keep people from trying to jail break them. She said if you downloaded 1.1.4 at it's early stages of release you should be fine but as time goes on with 1.1.4 they are basically getting stricter and becoming more likely to lock on you as you try to jail break it.
These are her words by the way, I’m just posting it here to get others opinions.
She said she look for the soft ware to repair the locked phones and jailbreak mine........good thing she said if i lock the phone she can bring it back......

that just doesn't really make sense about 114 "getting stricter". once the firmware is released, it is what it is and doesn't change or mutate.
114 was not a security fix, but more of a bugfix. 113's jailbreak works on 114, which is proof of the previous statement.
firmware 2.0 or 1.2.0 depending on who you ask is already jailbroken. you can find vids on youtube.

So just pay attention to that when you go to unlock it. otherwise it's pretty easy to do.

That being said, i've worked with some very dim Mac Geniuses... or at the very least, very poorly informed Mac Geniuses.
