I have one more problem when I went thru the manual. There is a control **** called input sensitivity control and it says "set this according to the pre-output level of the center unit connected with this unit.
For the pre-output level, refer to the <specifications> in the instruction manual for the center unit."
It range from min of 5 to max of 0.2. Do you have any idea what this setting should be set to for our G37?

Yep. Gonna re-do the gain this weekend and see if it fixes it. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks again for the help.

That'd be called setting the gain.

You will need a DMM, but this is the safest way to prevent clipping.

How do I figure this out the voltage chart?

I'm using a 1000 watt RMS and 3500 watts peak subwoofer with dual voice coil @ 4ohm (PIONEER TS-W3002D4). The amp i'm using is 800 watt rms at 4 ohm (Kenwood x1200m).
Also do you think my g37 can handle this? I'm planning to upgrade my grounding wire to 4 gauge.

Its the square root of the wattage times impedance.
For example, 1600 @ 1 ohm = 40V AC

At my own peril, I have disregarded the advice of the master. RockFos Punch Overload with remote control on its way. Will be installed by the middle of next week, tapping into lines 33-36.

For you guys with sedans. What side did you run your power lead from? Driver or passenger side of the firewall? Also, what did you use for a ground in the trunk?

Thanks!

I ran it thru the passenger side. I put the grounding wire in my trunk frame.

Thanks. I was eventually able to find another post with some photos and it seems passenger side is the favorite.

Does anyone know what the factory bose sub is rated in terms of ohms in the sedan, if it matters the 2010 sedan? w/o nav but doubt that maters.

Even go as far to ask if anyonw knows the output watt rating on the amp for the factory SUB, guess I could do the work and (amps x volts) to get that answer but ohm rating with a volt meter has never worked for ME.

While I am asking the front tweets as well (ohm rating only?)

I simply want to try out replacing the factory sub (with a ported design) and play with enclosure design to get the TONE I want... and perhaps the tweets to get the sound quality I like. Funny thing is I have a high quality amp, 1/3 oct eq and several subs and sizes laying around in the basement... but just want to see for now what a sub swap will do for me to clean up the lowend. Thanks!

So I went through this whole post and I was all ready to go. Routed the power cable down the right side no problems. But when I got to the part where I tap in to wires 23-26, I ran in to a dumb problem ... I can't find the Bose amp.

EDIT: For you sedan guys, the Bose amps are mounted under the rear deck on the left side. Picture of the connectors below. The one you want to tap in to is on the right (that you can clearly see the wires). Hope this helps.

Quick question, other then reviving an old thread, if I were to tap into the wires before the bose for a 4 channel amp, would I tap into #33,34,35,36 and convert the other end into rcas into the amp? If I were to wire a 6 channel amp, which additional 2 wires would I tap into?
