Interesting to see the ZEnclosure box fits with the trunk mat. I didn't want to push the fit that much and decided to take the trunk mat out.

I wonder what everyone else did and if I should go put the mat back.

Pull the carpet on the top of the trunk out of the slots to give you room to slide that back there. Then put it back when your done. That's how I got my box in.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it will fit if I force it. Especially since I see some members leaving it in.

It's just that I remember Mike telling me the box was designed to be used without the trunk mat.

Oh you've gotta account for some flexability lol Theres like an extra 1.5 cm of height.
And wouldn't the trunk look real weir without the mat? lol

my zenclosure fit fine with both trunk mats in. Just push it in, its meant to be snug.

I redid my whole trunk and teh box is really tight now. I actually had to modify the opening behind the seat to allow the box to slide through. I have to push the box in with my foot though lol.

Heres a shot.

All you guys with subs, especially in a 4080 enclosure, does the trunk rattle really bad? Did anyone have to use dynomat?

My trunk lid rattled a little when I pushed it. So I ended up just dynomatting the trunk lid.

hey guys, need your opinions asap....my intended setup is JL250/1 with one 10w3v3....i have the woofer on order but a local sound shop is offering me a JL W3v3 H.O. Wedge with the 10w3v3 in it for $400...

i was originally thinking of a sealed setup cause im after SQ instead of maximum "boom"...this deal is tempting but really concerned about SQ....especially since he told me it would sound much louder than a conventional ported box...what do you all think?

btw, the guy put it in my trunk to check fitment....it slid right up against the back seat with speaker pointing upward. it obviously did not sit as nice as zenenclosures but it did provide the same amount of trunck space as zen does...

The HO wedges are actually perfectly sized and sealed for the JL subs. The only thing that sucks about them are the funky grille and inability to fit perfectly in the area intended. I wouldn't get one, especially at that price. Seems like a ripoff for a 10w3.

yeah in the states it would be a rip-off...but in canada, after shipping, duties etc it works out to just shy of $400.
with zenclosure, i will face same issue (duties, shipping) so at end of day it would cost same thing....thats why for me the decision maker is based around SQ...."super" ported vs sealed.

you cant touch zenclosure fitment however...

If money for the box really is a problem, spend a weekend and just make one with a jigsaw and MDF. Just learn the math behind it all, and walla make a good sounding box.
As for the dynamat, hell yeah use some especially on the back of the license plate!!!! Mine rattles like a bizznitch!

I picked up a trunk kit from Dynamat Xtreme off of Amazon for $90 shipped. Came with about 5 sheets. More than enough.

Stuff is quality and thick. NO rattles here.
