ON the back of the rear seats. Won't damage the car, its the best place to mount so the AMP doesn't get a lot of vibrations that could cause the board to crack (had it happen to one of mine a while back).

Thanks for the repsonse DiamondGCoupe. I was reading somewhere on the forum that someone was going to mount their amp under the the false floor board next to the bose amps, was wondering if that is a good location too. was thinking about getting a Zenclosure, trying to figure out where to mount the amp. I know I could mount it on the box (i am only going with on 10" sub) but I was thinking if I wanted to take the sub box out, because I needed to haul someting that required me to fold the back seats down, then it would be a pain in the *** disconnecting all the wires, where if the amp was hidden somewhere else, I could just unplug the speaker cables, and thats it.

Not sure where the Bose amp is but I don't recommend mounting the AMP under anything.. Lots of heat, better for it to be out.. If you're thinking you'll need to 'haul' things in the G then maybe think about mounting it elsewhere, it shouldn't really get in the way in the first place but like I said I thinks its best to mount it on the rear seats. You could mount it to the Z box but it will get a lot of vibrations from the sub and that's not a good thing. A couple hundred watt 10" won't cause many problems but ask your installer what he recommends (or if you're doing it yourself, wait for some more responses).

This is how I mounted mine. I carry the allen wrench with me so that I can remove the amp, and the sub box just pulls out if I need to change the tire. The box and the amp rack were built by me. It has about .5 cubic feet of air space. Perfect for the Audiobahn sub.

I made mine out of MDF. I think it was $25 for a 4x8 sheet. I made it myself so the labor was freeeeeeeeee. Just a couple days of R&D.

MDF is Medium Density Fiberboard. It is usually the wood that most installers use for the wood sections. It is kind of like particle board but with smaller bits. I cut out the face board out of cardboard to get an idea of what it would look like. Then cut the sides out of cardboard and transfered the cuts to the MDF. Then cut the top and bottom to fit and viola, sub box. That is a simplified version, but thats pretty much it. I double checked the inside air space before cutting and made minor adjustments.

I think 3 days at about 5-6 hours a day, for the box and amp rack. I just cut out pieces that fit into the hole.
