There really isn't that much of a reason unless you want Sirius specific programming. I am actually wanting to switch, because I have a Sonos unit that currently can only interface with Sirius, not XM. So to play Sirius in my home I need a subscription. So i want one subscription...sirius, in my home and in my car. I also like Howard Stern.

I would like to know which Sirius receiver you guys have used in your conversion.

The Grubbs links all fail with a java error. Can someone just type the model number of the unit for me please & thanks?

the one i got off ebay is made by visteon... no model number as its already installed... it came off of a 2005 nissan altima... heres a link to the auction

Nissan/Infiniti Factory Sirius - eBay (item 300349334781 end time Sep-24-09 14:41:36 PDT)

im thinking they're universal and it could be one size fits all.. but im not 100% sure.

Thanks Josh! I will have a look around and see if I can find a model number. =]

I did find this tuner (Product SKU: 999U9-SRBK2) online for 218.12 but I am not sure if it would work in place of my XM tuner in my 09 G37x (non nav) or not.

Just installed my Sirius tuner I bought from Grubbs. Almost freaked out when I found I did not have the extra connector. Turns out the connector works in both my XM and Sirius tuner. Shaved off the nubs and the XM attenna works as others have said.

I would have never thought the replacement could be so easy. For some reason, I have free Sirius. I hope this doesn't mean Grubbs sold me a used tuner. It looked new, and I cannot imagine they are in the business of selling used parts. I will see how long the freebie lasts.

Thanks to all who came up with this solution.

do you have Navigation? I am still assuming that people with navigation and a 2009 model year or higher do not have the plug needed in the trunk to do this mod.

No, I do not have NAV pkg. Just want to make sure you understand, I had only one plug, and not two. The one plug from the XM tuner was pulled out and plugged directly into the sirius tuner. There was no need for a second plug as they are the same. The sirius tuner did however have another female plug. I assume that is for other vehicles that might have a different plug.

Bump... anyone with a 2009 WITH Nav find the plug?
If so please post up the exact location.

I'll be checking my trunk this weekend.

I pulled my 2009 NAV apart today and i see no unused plugs on either side....so it looks like we do not have it.
