i hate fingerprints

anyone else hate getting into the car and looking at all of those fingerprints on the nav screen? i know i sure do. granted that you only see them when the screen is black (off), but i still hate it.

i am considering putting an overlay on the screen. i bought a pack from radioshack, it is really more meant for cellphones and things like that. http://www.fellowes.com/Fellowes/sit...spx?Id=9000206

well, i was not sure how this would work on the touch screen, so i put one on my Voyager (verizon touchscreen cell phone) and it still works the same way, but the screen is more protected.

before i do this on my screen in the car, any reasons anyone can think of why i shouldnt?

No do it right now and see how it works.. There still will be finger marks just like on your phone but it might reduce the way it looks. Sure can't hurt to try.

I don't use the touchscreen so there aren't any fingerprints.

If I did use it, I think it would be simple enough to keep a MF towel in the glove box. On my wife's MDX she uses the cleaning kit that comes with her sunglasses. Takes about 15 seconds to clear all the smudges.

Those screen protectors tend to have a film that builds up on them over time which cannot be cleaned. It can only be scraped off with a fingernail, etc. I keep one on my 8830.

That is a good point to bring up, although most of the covers I have seen (with my cell phones) do not have a sticky back to them. Maybe some films are better than others and do not require goo..

If your screen protector gets a build up on it, you have the wrong type. I ordered one made specifically to fit our car's nav screen had should have it either when I get home today or Monday. It wasn't cheap, but I'll post here how it goes when I get and install it.

Yep, I keep an Oakley MF bag in the glasses holder near the cabin lights up top.

Well the one that I got is of great quality but it is too sticky and impossible to get all the air bubbles out of it. It looks horrible. I'm removing it and getting something different instead. Suggestions?

i have this on my BB 8830 as well, and on my voyager. it works with the touchscreen on the voyager, and protects the BB's screen as well. but both screens look worse. they lose their shine? not sure of a better way to describe it.

they do get a bit dirty, but it IS easy to replace - at least on the cell phone.
