Solution/Workaround to IPOD browsing issue!!
All:
I have seen/written the previous threads on the topic...
see:

https://www.myg37.com/forums/audio-video-and-electronics/176606-navigating-ipod-interface.html
Anyway, after having a "eureka" moment, I had the following thought, (and sorry if its been mentioned before):
Leaving out the entire prelude, it is the GENRE that one needs to manipulate. Meaning, for example, if you take every artist that starts with "A" and you change its GENRE to "A" then, when you go into GENRE in the car, and you click on "A," you will find every single artist that starts with "A" and ONLY those artists.
Soooo, I created 27 different genres (one for each letter (26) and one genre for #'s) and it has been an entirely pleasant experience since. Now, if I want to listen to Linkin Park, all I have to do is scroll down to Genre ---> L ---> Linkin Park (takes 1/100 the amount of clicks.)
One caveat: All your genres are screwed up. For me, though, I hardly ever search by genre, so it didnt really make much of a difference.
Hope you all enjoy!!
AJ

I believe you can actually have TWO genres. I am trying to find to find an easy way to change them globally from within iTunes, but have yet to fi d it. If you use the standard global change, it becomes a replace so you are still left with one genre.
