Others have said it, but when I renewed yesterday, you have to mention the $77 deal. They will not tell you about it unless you bring it up first. Traffic is extra, so its like $120 and change for 1yr XM+ Traffic.

Well, I was just shut off so I called and told them that I was suppose to receive 6 months free service. She said I was only signed up for 3 months, but would do it for another three months.....free!!!

My trial is going to expire in a couple weeks. I'm debating whether or not I should keep subscribing to this since on average I drive my car two days out of the week.

At first, I wasn't interested in extending my service and thought I'd never listen to XM in the first place, but boy does it sure grow on you...

I let mine expire because I have been busy and forgot to call. A couple days after it expired XM called me at work to see if I would renew. I told them I would for the half price deal. It was no problem she said. I don't use the service really but I don't like things in the car that don't work.

UPDATE ON XM MEMBERSHIPS

I've been reading on Slick Deals about a promo where you get 5 months for $19.99, and can also potentially add an extra 3 months for free. That blows the $77/year deal out of the water, but it won't be easy to get. I've given one try, and so far, the only info I got was that the deal exists since she asked me for a promo code that I didn't have. I'll be giving it a few more tries this week. I think it's best to wait until your trial subscription expires since the 3 months is for new subscribers.

Post your stories if you decide to give this a shot.

I think I beat everyone. I got it for 77 a year and then an additional 12.95 off for a "digital payment". Originally I didn't want to use a credit card to sign up, wanted them to invoice me, they immediately offered another 12.95 off if I used a credit card. So 64.05 for the year. Granted this was after the third call where my representative was horribly rude because I told her I only wanted the subscription for a year and didn't want it to be automatically renewed. She eventually hung up the phone on me. Couldn't believe it. Glad they made it right though.

I did pay the bill on their web site by credit card. They send me the 12.95 deal for a digital payment (inside the envelope of the bill) but I didn't understand. Anyway I paid $77 a year it's not bad, also I listen free online at work ... I like it..

I've been trying to get that and it hasn't worked so far. I've heard a couple people successfully doing it. If someone has, can you post your story or tips on how to get it packaged in?

My story to get $77 a year:
XM called me a day before the 3 months trial (Jan 28) and offered me $10/month. But I said it's too expensive and said my friend pay for $77 a year. XM's lady OK right way. I paid total $79 a year ($2 for fee). They bill me 2 weeks later.

Just got the same dealio...

I was told that they do not offer this deal to any.. you have to ask for it.
If you ask, then they'll give it.

Even better.. because I bought the car in the US (I'm in Canada), it's registered with the US arm of XM! 170 channels vs the Canadian feed of 130.

i might buy it as well.. im stuckk in the 80's chanels loll.. i just wish i can change the chanel from my sterring wheel
