Sq?! Audio Heads Come In Asap!!! Hurry
I went into the audio shop yesterday and dude just basically told me the truth! He said I got the wrong car to go SPL (g37) lol...
So I was talkin to my boi and he was like people really don't wanna hear SPL these dayz, he said its all about SQ these dayz and that's where the competition and money is.... So now I'm trynna go SQ and I'm takin all the speakers inside the G37 out and puttin in all new high quality MEMPHIS SPEAKERS. Audio dealer said to do the whole car would run me 500-700 bucks! I'm also gonna put 2 10inch MEMPHIS M3'S MOJO'S in the trunk along with a MEMPHIS BELLE AMP (monster amp) to power all of this! All this will cost about $3,000.00 bucks unless I go ebay.... This doesn't include the tvs and stuff I want in the car, this is just to get started and take to some shows naw mean!
DOE'S THIS SOUND LIKE A WINNING SYSTEM TO U ALL FOR SUCH A COMPACT CAR?

What type of competition is this for? Street/local or regional/events? If its for local shows go for it, but for $3000 I would never spend it on Memphis. Their "high-end" speakers peak @ 100w and sounds like they are cutting my ears (thats a bad thing).
I would go around to other audio stores and demo more speakers.
I don't know about Memphis subs. But check out some competition subs such as JL, MB Quartz, Oz, Soundstream, Phoenix Gold, etc. Remember just because sub is 3000w doesn't mean its better than everything else.

^yep, wattage is not a gauge for sound quality. To many people put emphasis on this when they think of sound quality. All this rating is for is the amount of power the speaker needs and the max it can handle.

go mb quartz for the subs and speakers.. They sound amazing. And yea wattage is not even CLOSE to everything. What are you doing with your old set up? You sure know how to spend a lot of money...

yeah go mb quart or diamond audio i have mb comps in my civic for my midranges 3 sets to a apline 4 channel and they scream with mids and highs but have the clarity that most people dont care for. but yes u dont pull up in a 45k talking spl u go sq that way u get the young and old looking at u like u have class. also look at rms not peak theres a big diffrence when it comes to the two.

I personally like Morel, Focal and Macrom speakers. Pioneer PRS's actually sound pretty great too. Diamond audio uses titanium tweeters and they hurt, so instead of eq'ing it out, I just buy silk dome ones.
Don't buy into ratings, a 1000W Kenwood is not the same as a 1000W Zapco
Pioneers T Class amps are a great bang for the buck. I'll be powering my stuff with Digital Designs, I really want to get a tube amp tho.
