Specific Radar Thread/Question

V1 is worth every penny and will pay for itself in no time. I've had mine for over 4 years now and I can't tell you how many times it's saved me. Knowing whether or not a cop is behind, infront, or off to the side of you what makes the v1 superior to all other brands. Buy once, buy right!

If you want it to detect from any angle just make sure its mounted in the middle part of your windshield. I have BelRx65, it was rated the best for distance detection. I see no need to know which direction radar comes from for a loss in detection time, when it goes off, slow down. Its pretty easy to figure out which way your are getting hit from.

Words from the RD forum is that mounting high will get you better detection for laser and low will get you better radar detection. However, most high end radars does both very well. Just make sure wherever you mount, your radar detector has a visible eye to your rear.
Mine is right below the tint strip. Looks very stealth from the outside. I chose the regular wire to hard-wired so that I can move my V1 from driver to passenger side and vice versa. And when my radar detector is in the glove box, I can easily hide the core between the sun shield.

Cuz they shoot laser at ur plates and headlightls mostly, and the laser beam is so narrow.
The way i see it, just mount high for radar detection and get a laser jammer if LIDAR is a problem in ur area. Some good detectors can warn you in advance about laser... SOMETIMES. It's really a crap shoot. Mostly when it goes off, you have already been shot and a speed obtained.

I recently got the Bel STi tho, because I live and work in VA now. If you drive thru VA alot, you may wanna consider that. I feel its on par with the V1.

I think u flipped your statement by mistake. Just wanted to correct. It's def the HIGHER it is the better for Radar and the LOWER, the better for Laser.
