I tried this image, and got the same results as the last one, with it giving me the map error message...

But in other news, I should have a working replacement GT-R HDD soon, and we will try and get that imaged and go from there

Well, good news with the SSD. It arrived and I flashed the 09 image and popped it into my test rig, worked perfectly. booted up quickly and the maps loaded instantly as well. I'd have to try it in my car to make sure everything is 100% but it seems like it works.

Here is the one we got:
whenever I have time next i'll pop it into my actual car setup.

Sweet, that is the same exact one I was going to try, mainly because it was the only native IDE SSD I could find on Amazon. Glad to see it works!

That's awesome, glad it worked out! I went ahead and purchased it for my self as well, now time to clone my current drive I have a 2011 so maybe I can try the 2014 Image as well.

Ah yeah good idea ^, that link will eventually be dead. 2014 image should work on the 2011 I would think. I'm gonna pop the 2009 image in my 2007. (not that I ever use the maps anyways lol)

As cool as it is that I found the MFD. I still need to figure out how to map it to a button, since we don't have the function button. Looking at those Russian clips, they apparently figured out how to map it to the radio preset 6

Also, I have no idea how I did this, but now on each bootup it goes directly to the MFD. Which is cool, but theres no way to get back to it if I leave that screen.

Thanks to @iCrap for unlocking and imaging my replacement drive, I am now up and running again with my GT-R, and also using the SSD that was found to be working here! Hopefully this SSD aids in longevity, but what I found was that my mainboard in the head unit was bad as well as the HDD being corrupted, so it is safe to assume that the bad board corrupted the HDD. So be careful if your HDD gets corrupted, there may be a deeper cause. Regardless, we now have a few diff working images for G's and one for the GT-R.

Yup, and as the cars get older and older more people will be dealing with failed drives. I'll post another thread with links to the images and instructions for flashing. Should save others some money if their HDDs die too Glad I could help you get back up and running.

@iCrap would it be possible that to access this you'd need a specific CAN command from a button these cars do not have?

Let me know if y'all need additional resources on this, my JY has been bringing 10+ V36s to the yard, finding and M&A meter should not be that difficult.
Having this screen in my life I believe will complete me

Yeah, I need the Function button now. That's the only button that we don't have, and it's the one that pulls up the screen. All I have so far is this:
Function 0x105c
Start/Stop 0x1093

I also need to get my hands on a 2010+ radio and screen to try this out on as well.

Also trying to figure out how to map the function button to the radio preset button like they did in that russian video. (Maybe that's only possible on a newer HU??)

What part of S.FL? I was going to play around with taking apart a JY head unit before mine looks like it's $80 from Upullandpay.
