Get XM cheap after the trial period
#106
Ditto - just got off the phone. Ours expired on 5/4/09 so I thought we'd not get it and also have reactivation fee. They first said they had no specials at this time, but when I said I wanted the $77/year deal, a "supervisor" was asked and seconds later I got the same deal & no reactivation fee.
Tks to the poster who told us about this in the first place!

google maps on a cellphone shows traffic information for free... it's not fair that xm charge premiums for this when this information is FREE. So I cancelled the whole thing because these XM folks cannot keep up with the free-world.

I got the $77 deal in december.. it still works the code is "ZWINBACK". Another good deal is $399 for Life.. which is you pay a one time fee of $399 and you get XM service for life up to 3 radio changes. I don't really know the benefits of nav traffic?? I dont think ever used it I guess lol..

Just got off the phone and got $77/yr + $10 for some music copyright tax. Relatively painless. Took awhile because of all the script the rep had to read to me.

I think the 399 a month isn't any special code. I think it is actually cheaper than that now if you call and ask. You can more than likely get a code online for a cheaper lifetime I'm sure.

Sept 28, 2009 XM renewal after 3 month trial - $77/yr
09/28 - I just renewed my XM radio before the 3 month trial expired on my G37x for $77/year - no promo code required. I just asked for the $77/yr deal.
I also mentioned that "my dealer told me there was a 36 month trial deal for Infiniti vehicles". He looked this up in his dbase and said that there was such a deal at one time but it expired in March 2009. I did not pursue it. See one of the threads below where folks mention that they go this deal a few months back but it only applied to QX56 vehicles.
I called 800.347.0600 and spoke with Justin (southern accent) - didn't ask where he was located though I've seen other forum posts talk about a nice lady in Virginia who gives out great deals.
I simply said I want to renew XM. He asked for my Radio ID and saw when my trial would end. I asked what the best rate deal was available right now and he went into his script for the 3 yr at $349 and also the 1 year at $142. I then said that I would like the $77/yr deal I've seen availble online. He said that "since I mentioned it, he could offer it to me" and that was the deal I got. No mention of other fees as I've seen on other threads.
Here are a few threads I referenced:

36 months of complimentary XM service w navtraffic: EX35 Forum: Nissan Forums / Infiniti Forums - NICOclub
I may call back to consolidate my radio and my wife's for another discount though she is paying $12.95/month with her plan 'cuz I never bothered to look for this stuff when we bought her car - doh!
Thanks to everyone who posted this info and their experiences. You just saved me some cash!

That was true for the Coupes. I bought both the Sedan and the Coupe about a two weeks apart. The Sedan had 3 months and the Coupe got 3 years. I like the service, but I wish the traffic was more up-to-date. Although it has gotten me out of a number of traffic jams.
