The SR7 is not a jammer. Its a radar laser detector. The ZR3 is a radar/laser jammer scrambler.... different systems

your kinda correct, the SR7 is both, it is the same as the ZR3 but also has the radar unit, where as the ZR3 just has the laser jammer, the jammers are the same, or I guess they call the shifters.

no my friend i am sorry but you are incorrect. the SR7 is not a jammer at all. It is just a more advanced laser detector. it does not jam. The ZR3 is a jammer. this is taken from the escort web site...

The Passport SR7 provides maximum warning for all radar and laser signals: conventional and instant-on X-band, K-band, and SuperWide Ka-band. Advanced Digital Signal Processing provides longer warning without increasing false alarms. Multiple low-noise laser sensors provide maximum range against targeting laser guns.

Introducing the new Laser Shifter ZR3 - the ultimate laser (LIDAR) defense system from Escort. The new Laser Shifter ZR3 is equipped with a total of three (2 front, 1 rear) laser "Shifters."* These highly sensitive transceivers detect the presence of LIDAR, and respond with a pulsed laser signal in order to "Shift" or confuse the targeting LIDAR gun.

the SRX is the systems that combines both units in one. The ZR3 which is what i have was designed to be used as a stand alone or in conjunction with a escort radar i.e. i use it with the X50.

Your right, he has a SRX, but they all use the same shifters, they suck against older guns.

only the SRX and ZR3 use shifters. The ones that come with the SR7 are not shifters. they are just advanced detectors. I have had mine for over 4 years now and have been shot a good amount of times by laser and have yet to be nailed with a solid ticket. They work for just fine. All the places i drive are extremely populated with large PD forces so I am assuming they use the newest tech. Or my system just works against their older stuff too.....

Really, really dumb question alert:

Do the laser shifters/jammers set off the laser part on a radar/laser detector? I'm guessing no for I should have heard about it years ago...
