Updating the Gracenote CDDB on Mitsubishi

Have been looking to figure out how to update the Gracenote CDDB info held on the internal hard drive. No luck for our car, and nothing from my dealership, but found this link for how Mitsubishi is updating their cars. Looks like a temporary link is put up on their website allowing owners to download the update and install via burned CD.

Nope.

That merely updates the titles to songs you have ripped to your HD that are not present in the onboard CDDB. I'm talking about updating the actual onboard CDDB itself, not the song titles for the stuff I've uploaded.

Doesn't look like this is user serviceable. Only time will tell if the dealers will be able to update it.

Navigation/Musicbox Update Available in December?

The Infiniti Navigation manual directs the reader to the Zenrin website for Navigation updates. Since the MusicBox software uses the same hard drive to store songs that the navigation system uses to store its maps, maybe updating the navigation software will also update the GraceNote database?

According to the website below: "HDD(Hard Disk Drive) Version 8.1 will be available in December 2007."

At $190, it would probably be best to contact their customer service to find out for sure beforehand. Here's the web address for the Nav software:
