4080 Subwoofer Enclosure
Has anybody contacted 4080 about producing either driver and/or passenger side subwoofer enclosure for the G37?
I had his enclosure for my G35 coupe, which sounded great plus I did not lose any trunk space.

My OB 6MT should arrive this Friday and it will be used for prototyping. There will be driver and passenger side enclosures. Nothing solid on pricing or availability date as yet but there should be an update soon; I'll post on the forum the second I have any info to release.

I have my car now and have emailed the owner/builder at 4080 that we are ready to test fit. I have no idea how long it may take to produce the molds for the fiberglass boxes (shouldn't take that long) and I will update this thread when I have info to share. They are in my opinion the best enclosures for the G period. Go find the 10" sub of your choice and get ready to be rocked. I am going to try this one first:

I spoke again with Ainsley at 4080. I will take the car in next week for him to produce the mold. Then they will actually build the enclosure. Then I will take the car back for test fitting and modification to make sure it fits perfectly. Then production. They could possibly be ready for sale by the end of December. They will be available to fit either side of the trunk and will accommodate a 10" driver. Mounting depth will be approximately 8". Updates at each step of the way posted here.

For anyone who has installed these side-mounted enclosures, how would you describe the bass? DiamondG prob has massive amounts of bass, but for people with one sub, would you say that you're getting a good sound from that setup?
I ask because the shop I inquired with to have this side enclosure done was hesitant to do it (guy's been a friend of mine for a few years), and he was more inclined to take the cheaper route and make a box to sit across the trunk towards the back. He said I'd get better bang for my buck that way.
Also, what kind of amps are you guys using? I'm not a bass fanatic, and I don't want to overpower my car with booming low frequencies. I just want an added kick that I just can't get with the stock setup.

This fiberglass enclosure provides very accurate and tight bass. Honestly, all you need is one sub unless you want to compete. This box is truely meant for those who want an added kick (used your words). Just get a quality amp, which hopefully has a bass boost. I had hifonics 5 channel amp, which had a dedicated 200W RMS channel for a subwoofer with bass boost. I literally on long commutes would get a headache if I did not turn down the bass (had a bass ****). I would invest in the sub, try JL Audio.
