4 positions: Off - Auto - Corner (headlights off) - On

If I had turned on my headlights using the 4th option (explicit on), how do u turn them off after parking the car at night without causing the xenons to go off, then back on, then off?

Basically the 3rd position "Corner/Park" turns the headlights off, while the auto position turns them back on (i really hate this feature).. and then finally back off. It causes unnecessary flicking of the xenons.

Same design throughout Nissan/Infiniti lineup. I had this exact same complaint in my 2003 Maxima, G35 and now the G37.

Even with the sensitivity turned all the way down, it's way too sensitive. It will turn on when going under a long overpass, under shade, etc.

wouldn't that be the point?.. you can put it on auto at night to use your lights, instead of going all the way to on

lol but it still works, the op could use his headlights without having to go all the way to 'on'

hell i dunno, i've only had my car for about 4 days, i didn't even know the second position was 'auto' i thought the lights were auto-on no matter what

Wait so if you make the sensitivty lower as in less bars the lights will turn on more often? I have it set to the highest thinking that they would turn on more often picking up more light changes. But mine basically never turn on except when its really dark. I can be driving in pouring rain and its really dark and they dont turn on... i hate that

Well remember, if it's on auto, and it's raining outside or something and they haven't turned on yet... You're next "flick of the switch" is to ON. I know it's not your ideal way.. but it's just another way. I'm sure you know this tho lol

yes i know which i always have to do. Thats my point. In my BMW the lights came on when it rained and got darker. It picked up the changes in light much better. This car doesnt seem to pick up the changes in light..

I know this is stupid to ask but.. what did the manual have to say? Did it give any more info on how to set up this feature? I'd help you out more but I don't have this car lol. I'm actually getting an '08 550i

doesn't really explain anything. Just states what auto head lights do. and about the adjustment set the sensitivity higher or lower. doesn't say which way does what to the lights

I notice that in daylight with the headlights off, dimming the instrument lights to the miniuim does not allow the lights to go completely off.

At night with headlights on, dimming the instrument lights allows them to go completely off. This seems backwards to me.

Just turn the car off and the lights will go off. (It sounds like you are finished driving.) Then, if you want, turn the light switch to off.
