How is the stock sound system?

I have an '06 G35 with the Bose and it really sounds terrible. My '03 350z had a terrible Bose system in it too. How's the sound system in the new Sport model?

I like my setup. Of course it could be better it's not a $10,000 setup but what exactly are people expecting?

thanks for the responses. The current system in the G35c seems to lack low end. This was my main concern

Well, for one thing it's almost 2008 and we still can't play a data dvd full of mp3's?
What about supporting the bluetooth A2DP profile? Or at least or FTP.
Good idea having a card reader but it's just plain stupid to not be able to copy from it. Not to mention the size limit. WTF, you'd think it's 1970 or something.</rant>

I've never heard a stock system that I liked. Seems like they always skimp on the most important component. Speakers. Although, when it comes to the user interface, I've found stock head units to be much better than after market units.

It still lacks low end. This is the best stock system I have heard yet. I will probably add a sub later as well as replacing the stock speakers. Other than that I think it's pretty good out of the box... So to speak...

Good, someone with both G's. The system in the G35 doesn't seem well "balanced." I have stepped foot into some Avis rental cars that had a better balanced system. I'm hoping this is one area the G37 improved on.

I think the G37S SOW sounds really good. It doesn't have trunk rattling ghetto style bass, but it *will* vibrate your mirrors inside and out.

I listen to stuff like "Crystal Method" techno and the synths and drums are clean and strong even at full volume. It could use a good sub however.

It is far from crap, as some snobs have described it. The connectivity and storage options make this the best system I have ever had stock in a car. I am very happy with it.

The SOW does sound really nice for a stock system. I especially like the fact that there's a speaker on the dashboard. I thought it was a vent the first day I had the car then I went to clean the winshield and saw the speaker.

That speaker is to produce the Driver Sound Stage.

I think it's on all the time but when you switch to the driver sound stage it gets a little louder and it switches the fade and balance. Not sure though

The sound system in my G37 is much better than in my wife's G35. I agree with other posters that the SOW is great and if you put it on the drivers stage setting it sounds even better.
