Hard wired radar detector

Anyone had their radar detector hard wired in so there isn't the annoying cord dropping down to the power outlet? Just got my first speeding ticket in my new beauty so I need to get serious about this.

Suggestions on a specific detector! I'm thinking the new Escort or the Valentine One.

I have v1, and the g35 invisicord hooked to brown and black. I also have a mirror mount for the V1. Very nice setup.

I have a G37.

My first suggestion would to be to do a search. There is a lot of information already on this subject. Look up Invisicord on google. That is a soultion that I am going with. I already got a speeding ticket as well so I picked up an Escort 9500i this weekend.
You cant go wrong with either the 9500i or the Valentine 1.
Good luck with your decision!!!

As my day job is in transportation safety, I have to say this: Slow down and obey the posted speed limits and you won't have speeding tickets. Sorry, i'm obligated to do that.

I hard-wired my detector (Bel 995). I ended up tapping into the reverse lamps for power, which was fairly easy because the wiring is right by the fuse box in the footwell on the driver's side, and when the trim pieces are removed, there's a series of wires that are grounded to a screw right there as well, so finding a place for the ground wire wasn't an issue.

It involved removing the left trim on the A pillar, the left finish piece on the dash (the piece that gets covered when the door is closed, and the black trim by the kick plate all the way to the trim covering the fuse box. All in all, it took probably about 45 minutes to do, and I mounted the remote silence button by the hood release (not the most convenient spot, but since I'm used to using the button on the unit itself, it's not a big deal).

Do you have Mikes Mount and Invisicord Properly Working and Fit in the G37?
