Had to use a lne out convertor which basically converts the speaker signal to a preout signal to send to the amp pretty simple addition 4 wires max then ran the remote to the rear of the deck and that was all. pretty much a basic setup
How does it sound? I bet it does not sound that good, at least I did not like mine when I did it the way you have done yours.

What I'm finding is that the informed opinion of many is that the system sounds pretty damn good but only lacks powerful low bass response. That problem is a pretty easy and relatively inexpensive fix by adding a quality amplifier and a good subwoofer. I'm thinking that I'll get a custom sub enclosure (possibly 2) and a 10" with adequate power (maybe 600 watts) and see if that takes it low and loud enough for my tastes.
It sounds pretty good as far as factory stereos go, but it is by no means an awesome sounding system.

I'm actually happy with the stock sound system. I'm not a big bass thumper. I think the stock system sounds pretty good from the factory.

Anybody love or hate MTX? My stereo guy was pitching me on it at the least invasive way. 200watt 10". would save my trunk and still allow me to lay the back seats down. Appreciate any feedback.

it adds the extra bass thats needed i dont pound it all the time it sounds great when the driver stage is turned off when on the balance of the speakers changes so it craps out a lil other then that its a sweet system if u want perfest take the who 3,000 stereo package that came with the car and start over kinda pointless to me it needs just a lil more umph and the two subs did just that. if i was gonna change the speakers out then i wouldnt have gotten the SOW package. my reccomendation leave the stereo alone its built for the car

Care to elaborate?

Sucks v. Cool isn't really that helpful in this instance.

Thanks.

its the sound quality, to me it was just not worth the money. If your gonna go through all the trouble of installing a sub in this car, then get something like a JL or diamond audio. Again, if you think that the sound is good enough for you, then by all means.

But as my personal opinion, I did not like it.

That's cool. Thanks for the opinion. I'll definitely keep it in mind when comparing.

Crossover???

Folks,

The sound to me is muddy. I would like to add a sub, however, I don't want to do it without crossing it at 85 or 100hz to keep the stock system from overworking when I have heavy low end music. This to me would clean up the sound tremendously. All of the discussions surround a hi/lo or processor, but it doesn't appear that I can use the existing amp and cross-over for the sub so that there is not frequency reproduction duplication (i.e., both the stock speakers AND sub reproducing below 100hz).

Any thoughts???

Bump....

Does anyone know of a Crossover with a factory wiring harness for both inputs and outputs so that a sub can be peeled off????

I already have all my stuff here, I just have to decide if I want to go with the Audiocontrol DQL8, Rockford REQ or JL Cleansweep. I want to keep my volume control tho, so hopefully they change their stuff soon.

My stuff:

Macrom M1's
DD S2
2X DD 9112
DD M2

Don't go with the three way unless you know how to set them up properly. Use the Nobeliums instead. I was between the Nobeliums and the Legatias by Hybrid Audio Technilogies, the HAT's won. I will have them installed (the 2 way with the 8" midbass) next week. I am still stcking with DLS for the amps and the subs, AudioControl for the processors and I will retain the Bose premium head unit.

Check the AudioControl website, and then buy them on eBay.
