TPMS Readout

Is there a specific readout for the tire pressure monitoring system? So far, I've only been able to find out that the G has a warning light for when the tires drop below 25PSI, is that all the info the system provides?

On my '06 TL, the information screen showed the PSI of each tire in real time which was really nice for those of us who want to know when our tires are even 1 or 2 PSI low, not 10 PSI low like the warning light provides.

That wd be cool... as i am **** about my TP as welll.

What do u keep ur tires at? The recomended 35 psi or somthin diff?

I keep my rear tires at a higher PSI than front. I used to do the opposite with my last car since it was FWD not RWD.
Better for takin corners this way i hear?

I just picked up the car Monday (9/17) so I haven't even checked the pressure yet... but in general, I'll keep it right at the recommended PSI.

If the system on the G37 is the same as on the 07 G35 sedan, it can not differentiate the tire pressure at each corner. I've pulled my sensors and mixed them all up in the new wheels and the system still worked (warning light was off).

you have to step up to the M to get this feature.

For a system that doesn't show specific pressures for each tire like the G, I guess it wouldn't really matter which sensor was at which corner. On the TL however, the pressure sensor receivers were located in each wheel well so that it knew what pressure was coming from which tire even after rotating the tires.

Good to know, I can stop looking now

It's weird why Nissan/Infiniti decided not to include the PSI readout for each of the tires. My 06 350Z has that feature standard.

Not sure about the new Gs, but on my '04 there is a 'hidden' diagnostic plug right behind the dashboard. It is a two wire plug, but there is only one wire in it (the other cavaty is open). If you ground this wire it will flash up a code and tell you what tire is low.

The car DOES know individual tires becaue each tire sensor has a unique ESN that it transmits to the BCM. When the car is prepped the dealership 'teaches' the wheels to the BCM. Having a unique ESN prevents the system from picking up signals from other peoples cars.

I found all this info out reading the factory service manual - it was all detailed down to where to find the diag plug.

reason to put same xmtrs back into the same tire position, no need to re-register them again. like when U change wheels.

i used to have the caps which were for 32 psi installed on my old car. This way I could tell at a glance which one of the 4 tires was low (once my dashboard light went on)... might try that again...

i believe you can only get a pressure readout for each tire, if there is a tire pressure snesor in each wheel.. but then this would be lost if you changed rims .. sensors also need tobe treated carefully when changing tires.

the system current in the G37 sounds similar to that in vag cars.. its not based on a sensor in the wheel itself but off the abs sensor.. which can detect if there is slowdown in the wheel.

thts how my m3 determind tire pressure which is why it could not tell eachs tires exact pressure only when one dropped below a set psi...

No. The system in the G37 uses transmittors in each wheel, not the abs sensor to determine air pressure.
