Bluetooth auto-connect

So I've been playing around with the new G all day.. and boy is it freakin' awesome!!!

I've only run into one issue so far - I can't get my phone to automatically pair with the car when I turn on the ignition. I can connect fine, but I have to go on my phone and select to connect to the car. Anyone else having an issue auto-connecting? I've got a Samsung D600, premium and no nav.

Edit: Forgot to note - I upgraded from an '06 G35 coupe, and was able to auto-connect in that car.

I don't have any issues with my Samsung 730 smart phone (Windows mobile). About two days ago, I started up my car, and got out to make a call while having a smoke. The car picked up the bluetooth, and I had to put out the cig and get back in to continue the call.

it automatically connects on my phone (blackberry 8800), i'm pretty sure its more of a phone setting than the car.

Yeah, I think it's a phone setting problem. Ghideon, do you know if there's any specific setting you changed? I've "authorized" the Bluetooth Handsfree, which is the setting I had to change before to make it autoconnect to my old G35. But it doesn't seem to attempt a pairing with the G37 unless I ask it to...

Thanks for the help guys!

No special settings on my end. I had already had the phone working with a BT headset. I just paired the phone the car and voila. You might also want to borrow a phone from someone and give that a shot.

same here as well.. paired the iPhone once and from then on out it connects automatically when i get in/out of the car.. even stays connected when plugged in/out of the ipod interface.. never had a problem.. never had a dropped call by the car. just works.

though.. uploading contacts to the car was an effort in futility as the iphone doesnt have the bluetooth profile needed to upload contacts.. so i had to use another phone to upload from instead. the car on the other hand worked fine with those contacts... phones fault not the car.

as others have said.. i expect its your phone not the car thats having that specific problem. You might want to play around with your bluetooth settings and set auto discovery on and add car as trusted
(if not already done)

I have the Samsung A940(sucks btw) and after going through the pairing procedure it connects every time. Uploading the contacts is a one-for-one procedure and is easier just typing it into the screen and adding the voicetag. I'm impressed with the call sounds and everyone I have spoken to so far can hear me perfectly. So far, Bluetooth in this car seems to be all good.

You might just check to ensure that the Bluetooth power on your phone is set to the "always on" setting, in case that got changed for some reason? Too much of a coincidence that it would have happened at the same time you switched vehicles, but still, it couldn't hurt.

I have an M45, how do I find the radio id number to activate XM. The car came without being activated in 2006 but g37 was activated and I love Xm. Cant find my manual to figure out how to get it done.

push the voice recognition button and say "radio sat channel 0"
or push the radio button until you get to XM then use the **** to twist to channel 0-- you'll get a 8-digit code # and call up XM at 1-800-852-9696

Thanks Kenny, by the way big Infiniti fan here in Houston. If I wanted to get a car through you how do you arrange delivery for someone so far away? Would I need to come up to drive it back here?

Im retiring at the end of September so road trip is no problem<G>. Long time Q45 fan here but had the first G35 coupe delivered by my dealer and the second G37. My M45 sport was delivered in April of 2005. My next interest is either the QX56 or the new Q45 that the owner of the dealership here tells me might be here in a couple of years and be a true super car.

Im planning a big road trip when I retire and really need an extended luggage area like Escalade offers in the stretch version. Any talk at all about Qx being stretched sometime? The big road trip is about a year out from now. Thanks
