i wont argue the results of their tests as the val is a Ferrari where the passport is a Porsche.. both mighty nice.... one just appears a little better than the other. What the passport does that sets it apart from everybody else is that GPS and after living with it for the past week or so I'm totally dependant on two things... showing my speed (in line with the windshield) and blocking out the three stores on my way to work that sets off every radar detector I've owned up until now. Once you have the convenience of completely ignoring those false alarms it'll be hard to go with any other detector (sans the GPS).
Some might argue the valentines arrows are far Superior but i'll take the gps over those arrows at the end of the day. I dont care if a cop is ahead of me or behind me.. all i want to know if theres a cop around. yea.. if the passport had arrows i'd love it..
thinking back to my very first detector.. it was called the fuzz buster. and though i dont think its this exact model.. it comes close to what i remember i had sitting on the dash of my Pontiac sunbird back in college mid 1980s.

K40 Calibre
I had a K40 Calibre (rad/laser) (http://www.k40.com/home_main.html) dealer install on my black G37 that I picked up yesterday. They said it won't interfer or be interferred by the cruise. I haven't had a chance to try it yet. I'll need a week off from work to figure out all the tech stuff. May have to hire my kids. I'll let you know how it works.

I have purchased the escort 9500i, invisicord, and the mount to go under the rear view mirror. I'll keep everyone updated on whats happening. They should arrive some time late next week.

Nothing by RMR or Rocky Mountain Radar will jam laser or radar and their radar detection sucks.

They are locking out signals from door openers and the 9500i is not alerting to cops that shoot radar in that area. Owners of the 9500i are also complaining that signals that they lock out are not staying locked out from the day before. They also say that their Sirius/XM radio is cutting out because of the 9500i and its GPS function.

There are big problems with the new Escort 9500i and the majority of people are returning them because of less range than the Valentine One and the 8500X50.

What i can say about this is that i've had no problems with the issues reported above (plus some of those complaints are from march of this year). In addition i'll take a serious test of this detectors capabilities (or problems) as done by several magazines over the complaints of people on a forum. I'm not saying theres not a problem only that i'm very happy with this detectors abilities. In addition, if there are problems more than likely escort will post a flash update for the detector.
If there are realistic problems with this device i'll have no problem exchaning it or moving on to another detector.. but until escort says there is a problem i'll stick with what i have.
FYI.. i spent some time this morning researching what others are saying about this detector and if any of the issues above are in fact problems. The majority of those who responded are more than happy with this detector, the sensitivity is just a hair less than the v1 but the built-in gps is the big win. It's allso possible firmware updates made since the complaints above might have solved some of the sensitivity and sat radio issues reported. Until i see these first hand.. or get a ticket because it didnt work i'm sticking with it!

If you had an invisicord for the G35, it should fit the G37 since my the standard sized invisicord (used for my last car) fit the G37 with a lil bit of effort.
The G35 cord had smaller sized probes, or w/e they are called, so should easily fit.
I haven't been able to mount just yet cuz im letting the tint strip cure. Actually, it's prob ready to be mounted now... i'll do it before i sleep tonight.

I used a very crude method to test which was + and -
As of right now, i have my 12v going into the green wire (CLOSEST to passenger side) and my ground / negative going to the center wire (black?)
The wire closest to the driver i could not get my test probe into, but i tested a few diff ways with my RD... and the above way was the only way i cd get it to work.
