Stillen components produce less horse power

Guys,

I need your advise. I have a 2008 g37s (automatic) and had the dealer install $4200 dollars worth of Stillen parts.

I dyno'ed the car stock, before adding Stillen, and after 4 runs got 290hp.

After $4200 of installing Stillen parts I went to the same dyno and the best I got was 282hp.

I called Stillen HQ, they wouldn't do anything about it... saying "they've searched everywhere online and can't find a stock g37s pushing 290hp to begin with... so therefore they view the dyno as invaild."

The dyno equipment is a very expensive DynoDynamics and the same tech made all the runs. The dyno also automatically adjusts for atmospheric conditions etc.

What do you think? (Yes, I have the dyno charts)

The Stillen components I had installed are:

- Stillen Hi-Flow Catalytic Converters
- Stillen 304 Stainless Steel Headers
- Stillen Cat-Back Exhaust System
- Stillen Dual Exhaust System
- Stillen Cold Air Intake System (long tube)

any comments?

Well all I was asking for was a refund and my old parts put back on the car. I guess I'll find out what my attorney says.

But one question.... are there any examples of a stock g37 automatic dyno-ing 290 hp? I'd like to debunk Stillen's argument in the first place.

^^Big time. After all that I would definitely remove the intake we know thats garbage. The header and exhaust should produce power though. Did you reset the ECU after all that? You may need a reflash to get the power.

regardless of what your dyno gets on teh stock g37 shouldnt it not matter since its the same dyno relative to the post-mods dynoing?

^ Yea.... Sorry for your losses db3838... Can you post the graphs? 290 seems high for a stock 5AT...

Exactly.... If its the same dyno it shouldn't matter.

And no I didn't flash or do anything to the ECU. I didn't want to do anything that would/could void the warranty.

So you didn't reset it then? hmmmm... I think you should, it doesnt void the warranty or anything if that's what you're worried about... The dyno shop didn't tell you to?

There is no way that you got 290whp stock on a dyno dynamics... I used dyno dynamics and they dyno low... You got ripped on your first dyno bro... do a lil dyno research and you will see what I mean...

I dynoed 251whp with HFCs on a dyno dynamics... use that for an example...

Wow I don't understand how all those mods would produce less HP, does it feel slower? Take it to the track and run the 1/4
