GT-R Wheels on G37 coupe
Is anyone running GT-R wheels on a coupe? I need to go to a bigger wheel width than stock as I need more rubber on the ground. The problem with GT-R wheels is that the offset is 25 and our stock offset is 45. I don't want to get into grinding the wheels at a machine shop as I don't want to compromise the integrity of the wheel. Will I have rubbing with only +25 offset?

Ran them for a few months. I was running 255/35 in the rear and 225/35 up front. I would definitely suggest a little more meat for the tires. Careful with the rear though because they poke a bit, so as mentioned, a little camber is needed to clear the arches. The front wheels will probably need a 10mm spacer to look good. They were too sunken in for my tastes.

Thanks guys... I am presently running 255 on the rear and would like to go to at least 285, even 3015 of they will fit. The lower positive offset will bring the wheel out more increasing the chance of rubbing on the wheel wells, so you are right some additional negative camber may be required. I'm not crazy about doing this as I was wearing out the outer edge of the tire with lots left on the inside
Nice to see the pics... thanks! I think the meaner look of the GT-R wheels is perfect for the look I want.

Ryne... thanks, I was afraid of this. When you say that you are running wheels the same size as GT-R wheels I am assuming that they are not the OEM wheel. I know of other wheels that will work with 305's, I was just wondering if the GT-R ones would work. There was a member who posted in the forced induction forum that this combination worked. Thanks to RadioFlyer for this information:
Rays Gramlights 57Xtreme
Rear: 19x10.5 +43 305/30/19
Front: 19x9.5 +35 265/30/19
and he has no rubbing.

Since tires move in both directions when increasing size, going from a 255 to a 305 tire requires 25mm of additional clearance in both directions. His more conservative wheel size is the reason he can fit this wider tire.

Agreed... my main goal is rubber on the ground. I am presently on 255 Pilot SS's and they are a good tire, but not enough footprint to hook up with forced induction. It is a little scary when the slip light comes on at 4K RPM. Appreciate you sharing your experience with GT-R size wheels. I don't have a burning need to go to 20's. I just need better traction and would like a more aggressive looking wheel.

And a lightweight set even better. There's many great 18" wheels that you can run plenty of tire, won't cost as much, are lighter weight and still look nice.
Browse this link, it might make you head spin, lol.
The Wedsports and Work Emotion lines are a good place to start
