255/40R19 instead of 245/40R19?

Hi,
I know most people use 245/40R19 on OEM wheel in front.
But I am considering 255/40R19 in front.
Any pro of con of doing this?
Of course, I will stay with 275/35R19 in back.
Thanks

IMO I'd just go with the 245's. 255/40 will have a larger diameter than the 245s. Ideally you want to keep the diameter as close to the stocks as possible and 245/40 is as close as you can get.

I run 255/40/19. Wider look and better handling.

Because I think that 275 on 19x9 is already pushing it?
275 mm on 9 " seem a lot already.
On the other hand
245 mm on 8.5" still have room for 255 mm.

No rubbing on an aftermarket 19x9.5 wheel. 255 will surely fit the 19x8.5 wheel.

255 is the tire Width and yes it will fit on the stock rims.

40 is your tires aspect ratio. I would stay 45 in front on those 19s. If your not dropped the last thing you need is a lower profile tire! That gap will be out of control!

255/40 on the front is possible, but it will look too "beefy" and there may be rubbing issue.

There's no way 40s on 19s look too beefy, unless you like the look of a bead of rubber on your rims. No rubbing issues for me and I'm dropped.

I had 255x40 on my stock front wheels and had no problems. Changed to Iforged, now I've got 245x40 in the front. Same difference. 10 mm is only about 1/4 inch. Can you tell that from a distance? Use whatever size you want.

Diameter of OEM fronts, 225/45-19, is 26.97 inches. Diameter of 245/40-19 is 26.71 inches and diameter of 255/40-19 is 27.03 inches. So 255/40-19, not 245/40-19, is as close as you can get!

I agree with 255/40/19 is closer to 225/45/19 than 245/40/19.
This is why I am thinking about 255 instead of 245.

I think the reason most people use 245 in front because they move 245 from the back and use them in front?

I struggled with all the variables as well. Here is a post with some data that may be useful.

So, what do you end up using in the front?
