Did they do the ECU reprogram/reflash like the TSB shows?

What noise? Can you describe it? When do you hear it? I ask because whatever noise you are hearing may not be the VVEL bank 2 knock.

I also have this problem but it seems to go away when you give it some gas and hit about 3 - 4k rpm. and then let off the gas. Noise just comes right back and a buddy of mine thinks it's a lubrication issue or there's not enough oil pressure in this spot of the engine. Why would Nissan change the oil spec. if this was not the problem? All I know if Nissan doesn't fix this they will ether replace my engine or give me a new G37. Metal on metal sounds are not good! What about the wear on these parts that are hitting each other right now and what engine damage does this do? My car is also eating a 1/2 quart of oil as well. I don't know about this and is making a little nervous. Car is going into the shop for this TSB and I'm not accepting it back without it being fixed!

Depending upon how old you are, it sounds like an old fashioned rod knock, only after the car is fully warmed up, only at idle, and only from the driver's side.

Since the "problem" is software derived and fixed, having the dealer read the current software version (which, btw, is the first step in the TSB to determine if the vehicle needs the update) is a sure fire way to find out if you need the upgraded software.

I'm having this issue as well. I just know when I go into the dealership they are gonna give me a hardtime, even if I tell them there is a TSB out on it. It took me 5 dealership trips and going through corporate and finally getting their shop foreman to ride with me and their GM to personally work with me to get my muffler replaced and my bad synchro's taken car of. Not to mention I'm positive my throw out bearing is seized and damaging my clutch but they say its a normal sound....

your t/o bearing would not seize never heard of that before, i have heard all kinds of crazy noises that new concentric slave cylinder makes i have compared and checked many many differant cars, be it 6spd 07+ sedans, G37s or the new 350z's with the same setup. most noises out of that clutch engagement and disengagement are normal.

There has been an update on that tsb just so you all know the reprogram was only half the fix i have done the new tsb to 3 now and no more complaints.

New oil is ester-based and expensive which is what the dealerships are now required to use. Like the Motul 300V e.g.

I'm having consumtion issues which is why they recommend an oil change for me. They also mentioned that the Valve sound should go away.

so changing to a Motul 300V 5w-30 should get rid of the valve noise, even without the software change?
