I went last year for 3 weeks. Such a wonderful time. I am planning a return trip this December.

Anyone else been?

I went with a close friend to his home town of Joao Pessoa. It is the northeastern corner of the country. Had a great time.

Yup. I've been. Went on a mission trip about 8 years ago. We flew into Sao Paulo, took a small plane to Campo Grande, and then a bus out to this middle of no-where in the rain forest.

By far the best trip and most rewarding thing I've ever done. Makes you really feel blessed for what you have. When you have a small kid begging you for your hat because he's never had his own "ballcap", it really makes you think.

Blackjack... I totally agree with your comment. In Brazil you are either wealthy or poor, typically no middle class.

Lucky you, how long are you guys in SFL, just a flight in and transfer to the port?

Fly in 9am, ship departs 5pm, so I'll be there like 8 hours, then ship gets in at 7am on the next saturday and flight leaves at 6pm, so basically a day in SFL. Probably just eat & maybe go to a mall or something

Good to have a late flight, don't want to be getting off the ship at 7am, get a ride out to Sawgrass Mall if you have time, HUGE outlet stores/mall, probably 25 minutes from FLL.

That's right... Wealthy or extremely poor. There is no in between.

I'm planning to visit some South American countries this Dec and the first one will be BRAZIL. I've heard that it is a breath-taking place but on the other hand, some people told me that Rio de Janeiro is full of crimes and hot chicks with HIV is that true? lol
