Things to Do / See in Cali

Will be in Irvine area for training, havent been to Cali b4, so any suggestions on must see/do things....I wouldnt mind traveling around w/ in 3-4 hrs.

It depends on what you're interested in seeing...beaches, touristy spots, shopping malls, amusement parks, nightlife? I live in Irvine and we are about an hour away from both LA and San Diego. There's also Santa Barbara, which is about a 3 hour drive.

Everything...Hotspots basically...
So you figure during the day tourists / landmarks / sight-seeing etc.
For the night, good /trendy place to eat/ club, etc

Shopping is a must, but I doubt that will be a problem (need to take back gifts)....
and I guess you can think of it as follows, when i go back to new york, id rather think to myself "that was neat, im glad i checked out that place while i was there)
i.e. in ny they have rest. in marriot hotel that is on the 58th floor that rotates while you have dinner so you get a complete nyc skyline view while ur eating....stuff like that (not limited to food)
Gokarting type places> dont forget the fun stuff....

Sunset, Beverly Hills, Topanga mall Biggest mall in LA. Malibu (beaches) Take topanga canyon to the beaches. So many things to do.

IMO South Coast Plaza is the best mall in the Orange County area. It's located in Costa Mesa. About 5 to 10 mins north of Irvine.

Take time to see the beaches, we're famous for that. If you can, go to Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Universal Studios... take a day trip to Catalina Island and bring some hiking gear... great sights around there.

There's a lot of history here in Cali...

Beaches, South Coast Mall, Clubs and night life. Check out the spectrum its nice too.

Hookahs pretty big down here. Not sure if it is anywhere else but check that out too!

for shopping i'd say go to Sunset, La Brea, Melrose, and Fairfax. There's plenty of boutiques and other shops. You could also try to hit up Hollywood&Highland or The Grove. There's plenty of stuff to do around LA
