Best time for Caribbean cruise?

My fiance and want to get married on the beach. We plan on taking a cruise, probably to the carribean, and getting married at one of the ports. Only problem is that passports are taking forever to get here where we live so I was just wondering if anybody had been to the caribbean in the winter months and how it was? Or....any ideas on when are the best months to go....also what cruise ships? I have been on a few but would like some more ideas

Haven't been to the Caribbeans, but went to the Bahamas--they're not too far apart, I guess...Anyway, we went in April and the weather was nice. Try to avoid the spring break crowd though--we did. I would think the weather wouldn't be too different in the Caribbeans. Our cruise was on Royal Caribbean. Liked it very much. I heard that Carnival is the McDonald's of cruise ships, so would definitely avoid it. Also, if you cruise, get at least a balcony suite or better. You won't regret it--the smaller cheaper rooms are way too tight....Congratulations!!

Thank You!!!! Ya I have been on Carnival....and they are ok for the young, partying crowd (not to say I don't like to have fun) but was definitely looking at a nicer cruise ship for this one We actually wanted to get married in the Bahamas but you have to be there 24 hours I think before you can...so that won't work since we will be on a cruise. I was looking at Royal Caribbean though, glad to hear you had a good experience with them. What part of the Bahamas did you go to?

Stopped in the capital Nassau, and in Coco Cay, which is RC's private resort island. I enjoyed Coco Cay more than Nassau--just relaxed on the beach, in the hammocks, sipping pina colada's....I miss the cruise...

Atlantis is worth the stop to look and spend a day at, IMO. I was there in May 06 for 5 days. They were still adding buildings and another water park(I think, could have been just more swimming pools.) Atlantis is definitely one of the best places I've stayed at. The end of May seemed like the perfect time to go, it wasn't too crowded(I thought it was going to be a lot worse) and the weather was great.

During the winter months are the best time to go to the Carribeans, from Nov to early May. Other months are hurricane season months.

Sorry, no cruise info to give you.

Congratulations!

Ya I was thinking about just doing the whole Atlantis thing instead of the cruise, but decided on the latter.....a coworker of mine is getting ready to go to Atlantis and I can't wait to hear about it......one of these days I will make it
