TJ got the job because he was the "best" they had....

As for Favre, he's is now the official NFL equivalent of Michael Jordan.

Well I went to a combined Saints/Texans practice this morning. My boys look goooood! I know my opinion will be viewed as biased, but I don't think I have ever seen any player take a practice as seriously or look as sharp as Drew Brees did today. He was amazing. Every throw except one (that I saw) was perfect. He was dropping back and going through drills and plays at full game speed and effort on EVERY rep. He was always talking to receivers, backs, and the rookies and coaching them between every play. He was the first player on the field and the last one to leave. He stayed after everybody else had left working on footwork, timing, and some throws with Lance Moore, a receiver who had been injured and missed some of training camp. Nobody on either team outworked him. One of his teammates told me that he does this at every practice, workout, and walk through, and that he's unquestionably the most respected leader on the team..

Other notes:
  • Jacoby Jones (WR-Texans) may be the fastest human being in the history of the world.
  • Matt Schaub (QB-Texans) is a huge guy. Much taller and bigger than he appears n pads on TV.
  • Steve Slayton (BR-Texans) is tiny and very elusive; he made the Saints 1st team defense look silly.
  • Anthony Hargrove (DE-Saints) is wildly entertaining to watch and takes practice seriously. Started 3 fights (at least) and had fun doing it.
  • Reggie Bush (RB-Saints) is way smaller in person that he looks.
  • Jonathan Vilma (MLB-Saints) is going to have a monster season and looked excellent in practice.
  • Darren Sharper doesn't practice very hard at all. He appeared to be trying to get through the session without breaking a sweat. He was however in excellent shape at 33, much better than many of the guys 10 years younger.
  • My wife likes large sweaty Black dudes

Brees 20 minutes after practice has ended still on the field getting reps. He seemed a bit irritated that people came onto the field and he had to stop.

One of the fights Anthony Hargrove started.

My wife and Sedrick Ellis (DT-Saints). Right after I shot this he busted out laughing when my wife exclaimed, "You guys look great out there. You've got to make it to the Superbowl this year, I've been a Saints fan for over 30 years and I'm tired of waiting!" I don't know if he was more impressed with her enthusiasm or that she's been loyal to the Saints through all those horrible seasons.

Steeler will Dominate!

I am a serious NFL junkie. I live in Indy, but grew up in Pittsburgh. My Dad bought season tickets in 1972. I love going to the games and I love the NFL. I ahve had the NFL Sunday Ticket since its first year in 1996. Have that with a DVR and it's truly heaven. Although I like the NFL, the preseason bores me. I a too impatient and I want the season to start. I will be at the Thursday, September, 10th season opener in the 'Burgh. Look for me, I'll be wearing Black and Gold.

I know that most of the fans aroud the league like the preseason, but that's because this is the only time of the year where you have a legitimate chance for the the Lombardi. By week 4, most of the teams will be wondering where they will be in the draft order.

I root for the team that is always in the mix at the end of the year. Since the merger we have set more records than anyone and now we are approaching the most wins even though we joined the league 15 years after the original teams. If we went 12-4 last year with the toughest schedule and a sub-par O-line, look out this year. The schedule is much easier and we are returning 20 of 22 starters from a team that won the Super Bowl.

Those of you may think even the Texans have a chance, but by week 2 you'll be wondering what the college players look like since you'll be drafting high again.

Good luck fans. We're lookign for number 7. Interesting Big Ben number 7 wins number 7 for the franchise (the best franchise in sports). Has nice ring, eh.

Who's a Texan fan here?

We all know about the Steelers legacy. I was the biggest Steelers fan in the world as a kid, in their earlier glory days. Bradshaw grew up near where I'm from. My mast name happens to be Harris and I always thought Franco was the man. My first number was 88 for You Know Who. I first wanted to try defense because of the Steel Curtain's secondary.

I like preseason only because I like seeing rookies and undrafted free agents work so hard to try to make the cut and to get the first look at new veteran signings. I don't know that your boys will waltz into tge Superbowl like you think, but they should gave a great team again. I really like Mike Tomlin.

BB, looks like a great time there. I definitely hear you with watching rookies try to cement their spot in the rotation and like seeing how fresh signed veterans mix in with the team. The Pats have a few of both.

IS IT REGULAR SEASON YET THOUGH?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!!!!

Who? the 69'ers? no way, It doesn't matter my team across the bay wont be great unless that soon to be Flop get's it together.

Can't wait for football to start, Until Lakers start, by then The Raiders will probably be out of it all ready so I can make the switch.
