Need advice on Golf gear

Anyone here play golf that can recommend or provide links to a golf bag/clubs that would be great for a beginner. Nothing to expensive but also something of good quality that I wouldn't need to upgrade to soon. Something maybe good for both beginner and expert. I played my first game last week and I had a good time. I have some friends that are really into it so I am thinking about taking it up. If only I could hit the stupid ball start with a driver though.

Pinseekers are pretty good IMO... Not expensive and they're supposedly made by PING... You could even find good sets at Garage Sales and what not... My buddy found a set of Wilsons (Putter-Driver) for $50!!! Check Craigslist... Good deals there too!

Speaking of golf gear, I need to find a left-handed set, but I don't feel like getting any custom made.

Can anyone recommend anything or anywhere?

Craigslist bro... You should find some used sets for sale... If you want a brand new set, try Roger Dunn... Their prices are usually pretty good... Or have Lou make you some for $3,000

i just started playng myself. i work at a golf course so i can golf for freee so why not learn.. =)

off ebay i bought COUGAR clubs.. it came 3wood 5wood 6-PW, came wiht a walking bag a head cover and a rain cover for 100 bucks shipped. So all you need to get is a SW.

As of now they are doing me great. i reccomended them for beginers. so cheap you caint go wrong its basically investing in the baf itself.

I use Taylor Made R7 Irons R7s and a Nike SQ Driver (S-9.0). Best to find irons with a high bounce to em but do yourself a favor and invest in some decent clubs, they're really not that expensive and they'll last you a good 6+ years even if you play often!

I've hit both and I personally like the TaylorMade R7 Quad Driver 9.5 better... Sumo2 Driver is nice too though...

6+ years with playing often? Uh oh.. I missed the memo since I'm about to order my 6th set in 10 years

Hell, I've had my current Bridgestone J33B's for almost 3 years now only because I haven't been playing as much as I used to (also because they're freakin sweet too)

My last set of irons I purchased in 2001, TM Super Steel's, I play on average 3 times per week and I've only had to replace the grips about two years ago. Grooves are still in good shape. I just got the R7s about 18 months ago. Prior to that I played with some Yonex clubs my dad bought in the early 90s. Yes, they will last you a while.
