Texas Drivers Watch Out

I have been pulled over twice in 2 months for missing front plate. First time I was speeding (and honestly I didn't even know I was since I had gotten passed by a car just before he pulled me over) and he gave me a warning for it and for the plate. Second time the trooper was driving below the speed limit (his rear bumper was cut and flopping in the wind as he drove) and as soon as I passed him he turned no his lights and pulled me over for just the plate, again he gave me a warning. Both troopers were nice about it. In the 18 years I've been driving I've never been pulled over, and bam get 2 in 2 months in my G37.

I have ordered the Stillen front plate bracket to attach my front plate and I should have it this week. Either I'm very unlucky lately or they are stepping up pulling people over for front plates.

dude i live in austin as well. i have the front plate b/c i dont wanna give a cop a reason to pull me over. knowing my luck it will be the night ive been drinking. i ask my friends with a g/z and they havent been pulled over. not worth the risk. thanks for an update to all my austin peeps

i think you've just were at the wrong place at the wrong time... i've had my car since last june, and haven't had any problems with front license plate... but many other austin g owners have had that problem... and the one time i got pulled over for speeding the cop didn't even say anything about my license plate... *knock on wood*

btw, what were the intersections you got them at?

it's texas state troopers in general, they kinda harp on the front license plate thing, i ended up putting the stillen on myself

Stopped twice recently by DPS. One gave me a ticket, one didn't Neither made an issue of the front plate.

i would say almost 60% of the drivers in Houston dont have front plates.... i've talked to several officers here and most dont care about front plates... they have more important things to worry about (like donuts and pu$$y)

Hmm well in my city they arent really anal about front plates they are anal about speeding. They will pull you over if you are going 5 over the speed limit. I havent gotten pulled over for anything yet. *knock on wood*.

I just got my plates last week and the 2 different guys at the dealership said they don't have front plates on their car.

I've gotten stopped 5 times (4 tickets) since March 08....noone has ever said anything about the front plate being gone. And a few of the cops were ****S!

I'm here in Amarillo, and I got pulled over the other day by a state trooper also for front license plate. He just gave me a warning and said all cars are required to have one in the front now, and not in the window. :\

i always heard this rumor that if the dealer never drilled out holes for you so you can mount your plate, then they can't get you for it. but don't know how credible that is. to me it just seems like another stupid excuse to pull you over.
