Forged Performance Cleans up at Redline Time Attack at Summit Point
#34
This is most impressive of it all:
Unlimited RWD
1st Place Forged Performance 350Z Sharif Abdelbaset 1:36.779
2nd Place Mark Simonz Arial Atom 1:39.814
3rd Place Michael Doughery Super 7 1:43.554
An ATOM and a SUPER 7. Both of which, deserve respect.

they obviously were not piloted by the best of drivers, or had setup issues....those are horrible times for an atom and super 7....hell neither one of those guys would have even placed in the "modified class" which is supposed to be slower than the UNLIMITED class.... doh....
winning isn't anything if the competition sucks or your car outclasses everyone elses by a mile....

My car's weight at that event was 3648 pounds with out Robi, add another +250 pounds, I'm being kind to Robi and I was over 1200 pounds heavier than you and over a second faster...
Car has gone a HUGE diet since that event and I'm looking forward to competing with you again I'll be at NJ Motorsports park this weekend and VIR on Oct 3-5th...
Looking forward to meeting you and congrats again on a great drive to second place in a class with 16 cars in it at Summit, great accomplishment for you!

Scott, not sure where your over reaction is coming from bro. You are a great driver, you have a nicely setup car, and have probably been racing/driving longer than I have. So what's the beef? We've podiumed at every event we've entered, and some classes had a lot of competition, and others had not so much. Either way, it was fun, and we're getting faster and nailing the setup down at each event.

I thought that it doesnt matter if you win by an inch or a mile..winning is winning.

My post came off alittle rough....
You guys came to win and have outclassed the field! that is the way to win!
At 3900lbs / 450whp = 8.7lbs per hp. I have 12.0 lbs per hp (2700/225)..... it is just the goofy way they class things at those events. You were running the best tires possible for this event as well (not sure why they would make a 40 wear rating tire allowed but.... again, goofy rules)....."Tire Exception: The BFGoodrich R1 tire may be used in the Modified Class".
I run R888's (wear rating 100) which are a good bit slower. Here is a quote about the R1's... "Benefit: One second faster laps than the competition on a 1 mile road course.* (*Test conducted by The Tire Rack at the Michelin LPG facility) "
Listen to me whine. You guys came to win, I brought my car as it was sitting in my garage.
O well.... it was fun and I am being an A-S-S about why I didn't finish on top...
Goodluck on all future events. That was my only redline time attack. Too much work to change everything from my current series to make my car optimal for Redline.
