Forged Performance Cleans up at Redline Time Attack at Summit Point
Hi everyone,
Finally getting around to posting on to all our customers and friends on myg37.com. Check out some of things we are going with the G's and Z's that we build. Stay tuned, becuase our monster G37 TT is just about ready to come to life!!! 500whp+ on the stock block has a nice ring to it.
Coming off our twin 2nd place wins in Nashville, we knew that the competition would be even stronger at Summit Point.
The whole team is thrilled to have captured first place in both Unlimited RWD and Modified RWD. Both the Forged Performance 350Z and G35 both performed cool and clean all weekend long. I have to say, that the G35 is just simply retardedly fast, especially when driven by the very talented Robert Fuller from RobiSpec. In fact, it was so fast, that we couldn't keep the decals from flying off the car. His nasty tire and suspension/aero setup, had the G35 working perfectly all weekend long, and wastegate pressure and 450whp. Not bad for a brand new Forged Performance S1 shortblock, that had about 2 hours of total run time on it, before making the 10 hour road trip to Summit Point.
With the Forged Performance 350Z, we were actually running even LOWER boost this time out. Turns out we had a small hole in a vaccum line, that was resulting in a small overboost. Once we changed out the line, boost settled in at just 8psi and 400whp. We flat ran out of time, and no time to retune and install a boost controller. It will be interesting to see how I can do once the boost is turned up, and we use a wider tire package. Currently running a 275/295 setup.
For those that havent visited Summit Point, this is one VERY dangerous track, with almost no open run-off.....unless you call tire stacks and concrete walls...the run-off. At least a half dozen cars had some pretty major incidents. Fortunately, nobody was injured, and the cars can be easily repaired.
One last thought. These events are just as much about the people, as well as the cars. I think it goes without saying, that everyone had a great time, and we are fortunate enough to have a lot of great customers and friends, that come and show their support. We can't do it without you guys!!!
Here are the final results for the Nissan group. We also podiumed with the Evo in 2 classes as well.
